00 metro 1.3 harness into 93 Swift

I've decided to integrate the obd2 00 metro harness into my 93 Swift. I've done wiring swaps from metro to swift Gt before but have only worked with Mk2/Mk3 chassis. I have never worked with the later stuff. Is it possible to use my factory rear harness with the later fuse panel? What all will I need for the front harness? I have a few diagrams but still working out some bugs. Also can I use an auto harness when I'm going to run a five speed?

Why would you want too? There are quite a bit of differences between obdi and obdii. Are you swapping engine also?

I suspect your research on electrical system issues/differences might be a little more productive if you were using both Factory Service Manuals instead of just "a few diagrams."

What are you planning on using for a PCM?

Is the 2000 Federal or CA Emissions? The 1993?

As freegeo was probably getting at, there are going to be quite a few significant components/sensor differences between the 1993 OBD and 2000 OBD II systems.

Yes I'm going to be putting in the 00 1.3. My 93 swift is a Rolling shell I bought from another member here. I have a rear harness and an 00 auto engine harness. I'm going to be pulling a main harness from a 99 Metro tomorrow. I'm hoping to run full drive train from the 00 metro/with a five speed.

You may have some problems with that. The auto harness on a manual trans may not work the same. If you are going to run a manual you should look for a manual harness.

Just curious, but what PCM do you intend to use?

What ever you got the engine out of is what you need pull the wiring harness from. Make sure you use the PCM from the car too.

I'm looking for an 00 five speed fed ecu. I think I might try to use a 98-00 fuel tank and pump with evap system so there is no check engine light, also will run a fouler for the second o2 sensor

Today I grabbed the pcm and main harness from an 00 Suzuki Swift the ecu is an f7 1.3 man. I still only have a 00 auto engine harness though.

Good bye

If you go to MetroXFi.com and look up wiring diagrams they have 28 pages for 98-01 Swift 4-cylinders. The diagrams show the manual and automatic variations side by side with all the colors. These are the same Mitchell manuals that I used when I did my car.
