Drove a very nice 2015 Focus (not Fiesta) with the 3 cylinder 1.0L engine & 6 speed tranny today. Drove very nice, plenty of pep , nice wheels, ac cruise, backup camera, tunes, yada, yada. I was impressed. Wanted to try a 1.0L Fiesta but they didnt have one. Drove one with a 1.6 & automatic. Didn't ride nearly as nice as the bigger Focus. Big difference. Made me think I was driving a Metro or something. The Fiesta seats were too short too. Hit me about 1/2 way on my leg whereas the Focus ones came almost to the back of my knees. The Fiesta seat started hurting my leg after a short drive. Not good. They were talking $17,800 with taxes & everything. If I could get one around 2k cheaper I'd probably seriously consider it. Would definitely have to unload some of my current inventory tho before divorce proceedings started.

Does anyone really use the backup cameras? My grandma has a newer focus with the camera, and I found it more of an inconvience than a help; I prefer just looking over my shoulder. Especially with a tiny geo. Grandpa tried using the camera, and backed into the washer stored in our garage somehow. I never realized that they have 3 cylinder engines. Is that just an option, or is it standard? Guess I never looked under the hood...

The Focus just came out with the 3 cyl about a month ago in the states. Been in Europe for 2-3 years I think. Normal engine over hete is a 2.0L. They also have the diesel Focus too. Never will understand why Ford is an American company, & we always get stuff last over here. wifes car has a backup camera. I dont use/trust it yet. I use the mirrors more. |
