Horn, what car did you get?
I just bought a Chevy

Aw shit, it's a 2000 CHEVY METRO!!!! I guess I'm not going anywhere! GMF is the Hotel California of forums.

Ive been looking for a nice 4 cyl auto for a while and found one with only 108k for $500. It smokes a little on start up, but has new tires, new timing belt, clean under the hood and nice body. It's a good car for cheap and a lot more comfortable than my geos. The interior is actually a really dark grey which I haven't seen in a metro. I'm pretty stoked about this car. Never thought I would say that about an auto metro.

I was just messing with you guys. :rasp

And on top of the several titles I have around here, guess which one I can't fucking find to save my life? Yep, you guessed it....the geo I drive every day. :smackface . I guess that's what I get for messing with gmf.

Yea I know pics.....

Good luck with the sales!
IDK what you are talking about? :whistle

I'd really like to get legal with what I'm doing, but making myself legal costs quite a bit. Fucking regulations. I'd say in a year I could definitely be where I'm at, but want to move far away at the same time. Oh well. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.

I love my 1.3l 16 valve engine even though it's been running on 3 cylinders for the last 30K

I thought the original post was suspiciously void of detail and emotion...

The seller said that this engine had a misfire. I think he was confusing that for the small amount of smoke when first started. It does run a little rough, but seems to have plenty of power. Seems like it might just need a tune up. I might end up put rings and head gasket on it just because. It would be nice to actually own a nice looking/running metro. They are damn near impossible to find around here.

"F you" - There you go for emotion :lol

Yea even if I did get rid of all metros, (Chevy or Geo) I would still be here. There are too many smart people here and could help with any car issues.

Smoke on startup is often just valve seals. Check the compression, if it's good you can put new seals on it without taking the head off.

Hmmm, :smackface are you doing some kind of durability test?

I can tell you the long term outcome of that..........

There is a guy who travels the country fixing Geos, I believe he lives in Mo., you may want to call him up for help with that. :rofl

Grr

yeah. the leaf has been amazing (glad to see horn was screwing with us) 19,000 miles and counting gas free.

you can nab used leafs for under $10k!! if you can live with the severe range restrictions (especially in the winter) it is bliss.

I really want that new 30kwh pack coming for the 2016 model year. would make a huge difference the extra 6kwh. hoping nissan does not burn us and makes it backwards compatible.

That's what I said. It seems to smoke quite a few minutes...5 or so before it goes away. Most vehicles I know would only do it for a minute, but yea. I might just do that first. Would be nice!

sounds like valve seals, if it was bad rings I doubt it would stop smoking at all?
