How was I to know if you were making an assumption, had some specific knowledge the rest of us may be interested in, or you just used an inappropriate modal phrase without asking you? ![]() By the way, thanks for making the effort to stick your tongue out over being asked a simple and reasonable question, without answering the question. Practicing up to work for the Elio marketing department perhaps? ![]() |

I could make the argument that a good number of people have done the same thing when it comes to Mr. Elio's motivations. We have no way to know if he is just a dreamer with no grasp on reality or if he is a scammer trying to rip as many people off for their cash as he can before running to the hills. |

I just asked a simple, direct question in order to clarify your intended meaning or factual information. Which you still haven't answered directly. Nevermind, I'll take my chances and infer you are implying that you were assuming. And that explains why Elio wouldn't be using one in their mule how?

You asked for a good reason, so I gave you one. I could never get into the mind of someone like this.

A Honda motorcycle dealership down the road from me sells the reverse trikes. This just looks like a packaged one of them. I am curious now what the price is on the reverse trikes. Why not just keep the motorcycle engine that they came with? Hell just leave it alone; the little side compartments have the same overall luggage capacity. I am also certain the reverse trikes are considerably lighter. They also have visibility out the back. I see people test driving the reverse trikes, but I have know idea how well they are selling. |

Reverse trikes are like $20,000+ generally. The issue of any motorcycle is weather. It is 100 degrees+ daily where I live and I would not want to be out on a motorcycle every day as my main mode of transportation. It also rains daily here too, so that is an issue with a motorcycle (open top is what I am referencing). The elio has a closed top, which allows creature features and an escape from weather. Not to mention is gets better fuel economy and is a third of the price. The Can-Am Spyder manages 36 MPG and costs over $20k. This gets 84 MPG and is less than $7k. It is a hypothetical no brainer. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGUO8AucxhQ Another Elio vid Jump to 7:45 and the dude talks about the new powerplant. Metal timing chain. .9L Once again the camera never gives in-depth looks at the engine or tranny. Just glosses over the engine and give short shrift to what powers this mpg loving machine. Paul Elio is not doing his company justice by promoting his product on Youtube wanna be's channels. Paul needs to either get with the program and find substantial funding or cut bait and leave this endeavor in the dust. His promotion skills are lacking, to be blunt. If he cares so much about this project, he needs to get a skilled film crew, some editors, writers, better backgrounds and make a promotional video which explains every detail of this car. Otherwise he is pissing in the wind and nobody will buy his product because of lack of confidence in the final product due to poor promotional materials. I want to see this car come to fruition, but the way Paul is doing it is not making friends in the kinds of places he needs. GET FUNDING, PAUL, AND THEN YOU WILL SELL YOUR PRODUCT. |

You mean spend money and do something well in order to convince real investors that you are capable of doing something well? ![]() What purpose would this serve other than to satisfy our curiosity? What's in there now has nothing to do with what "will be" in there, does it? I have seen this quite often in experimental aircraft startup companies. They take advantage of bottom tier scale drooling amateur "journalists" who wet their pants over a chance to do a "test drive" on a new product and will eat up anything they are told and won't/don't/can't ask tough questions. So it ends up looking more like a sales pitch and less like a professional, objective review. And does anyone else think Paul looks like Dr. Drew?

Myredvert, the reason I am so curious about the engine bay is because the car is more narrow than a metro yet they were able to stuff a G10 and a 5spd in there. I just want to see how they did it. My assumption is that the ends of the engine and the tranny are literally touching the inner body molding. I'm only wondering how they did it. As to Murf's observation about the black hat, if the hat was turned towards the right fender, then there is no area to plumb the air intake pipe to the hat. |
