93 metro convert - magnetic oil drain plugs ?; can't find one compatible

I simply cannot find a compatible magnetic oil drain plug for my 93 geo metro convert. Blox racing doesn't have any compatible, and Amazon doesn't even list the Metro convert as an option. Does anyone know a make and model that fits ?

You need a 14x1.5mm plug they are available . Try Ebay.

Why would you need a magnetic plug for the engine?

Here's the one I got: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181440242189
They come in other colors besides purple, but I like purple. :)

As you can see, they're touted as being made to fit a Honda Civic, Accord, Etc...

Just buy a neodymium magnet N50 and stick it on the end. Ebay has all sorts of sizes and shapes, you can use them for uses such as tape one to your everyday flashlight with electrical tape and it will hold it in position. Since I live in shipping container as travel trailer I hang pictures on wall with two N50 magnets and can move them when needed lol with other things such as hat hanger coat hangers you name it, even stick the TV remote control to wall and never lose it.

You can also put magnets on your oil filter. I do this on my riding mower. You won't get the non-metallic debris captured and you can't actually see what is on the drain plug if it is on the oil filter.

If you get a chunk of the piston skirt breaking off, this won't show on a magnet since it is aluminum. Also, ingested dirt that isn't magnetic won't stick either.

I like the first link. I used one of these on a 150cc scooter engine that was bored out to 177cc. It helps catch the little bits that wear off quickly during break in and maybe pieces I missed in the oil. Of course it is very small particles. Huge chunks will destroy the engine before they ever make it to this plug.

Well, what a grand idea ! Thanks guys for the links, I like the quality and reviews of Blox Racing so thry will be my go to first. I dont know where some of those other plugs were made and I read reviewa of some cheaper ones having the magnetic component come off inside the oil pan.

Yeah, but, if it did, your oil pan is steel, it would just magnet itself to the floor of the pan...

Okay you win, for some reason I thought it would bang around in there.

Hey for putting a magnet on the oil filter, whoever has done that, what kind you using ? I cant see the regular circular ones sticking to a cylindrical object very well, and the magnetic tape isnt usually very strong.

Neodymium or "Rare Earth" magnets are quite strong.
Thicker the magnet, the stronger the magnetism.
(Which also translates directly to cost! :O )
