Another headlight problem... sorry guys but ive been searching for info on what i should look for and try for a few weeks now, but id like to get a little more for my problem.

94 metro 3/5 base. Whats happening is everything works except for low beams. I have looked at the connector and it seems the one wire in the corner is slightly browned, but not black or totally burnt. Is this enough for it so effect my low beams????

Ive read that i can cut this black wire with the brown dots and re-route it to an alternative ground. But im not curtain that this is the problem as it is not totally burnt out. So could someone with more insight help me out on this? What exactly is this wire for? (Im still not familiar with reading and understanding wiring diagrams yet.)

Again sorry for the same ol' issue... i just dont know what to do here.

Ok so ive traced the wires from the switch but it just brings me to the connector that ive pictured? So could the wire in the connector be no good? No other connections seems to be damaged

I believe if that wire was bad you would have no head lights. Are you sure your lamps are good?

Low beam indicator does not light up though. High beams work but they arent all that bright. So should i just run out to the parts store for some bulbs?

There are several wires that could be the issue. If you haven't already, pull the fuse block down and inspect where the connectors plug in for damaged areas. Also look into that connector and see if it looks like the metal has changed color and possibly opened up and is no longer able to make a connection. Make sure the wire isn't broken off the back of the connector as well and there may be a connection at the steering column that needs a thorough inspection as well. Clean all the ground connections while you're at it, including the battery terminals. If nothing changes then you will want to dive deeper. You can remove the bulbs and jumper them to 12 volts to confirm the high and low beams are working.

Well i bought new headlights... problem solved :smackface
Being on such a tight budget i was worried about paying an arm and a leg for somehing as simple as headlights (parts seem to be pricier for me compared to everyone elses..) luckily a friend of mine was working in lordco so instead of forking out $85 for a new pair i paid just $35. Friends are great :cheers thanks for putting up with my noobish problems..

I learned these are "dual system headlights" or something like that so the low beams burnt out of them i guess.
