I love getting a deal. It's rather addictive. Generally, I shop around, find out what the normal retail going rate for an item is, and usually end up wanting it for half that. Call me cheap if you want, but I look at it as my hard money is worth more to me than it is to most people, so that i am only willing to part with it when I think I am getting my money's worth. Most retail isn't. But I will spend through the nose if it's worth it in my book. Anyway, today's deal was an air rifle for $30. I've been wanting one, but since I live in a city, it's not something I'll get ti use a lot, so even when they're on sale for $60, they're still not worth that much to me. This one had damaged packaging, and, for whatever reason, they decided that was worth knocking it below half price. Yup. The packaging that the customer is going to throw away when they get home. Other "open box" items were only 10% or 20% off. Whatever, as long as it works in my favor! ![]() They also had a brand new 15hp pressure washer for $300. ~75% off. "Mechanic's special. Doesn't run." it said on it. If I didn't alreay have a pressure washer collecting dust, I'd have been all over it. Probably would have been a pretty easy fix. It turned over just fine. I also keep a mental list of what the things I want sell for, so I know when I find a deal if it really is a deal or not, and if it's something I want enough to pay even the "half-price" I aim for. I have searches on Craigslist bookmarked that I check daily for said items. Some things I've waited years for and have eventually found at a price they're worth to me. Here are some other items I've gotten in recent months: A123 20ah LiFePO4 pouch cells ($20 ea off ebay. Blems/B-grade/whatever -- still work great!) Recumbent trike (CL find, half what most used ones go for, just cuz it's not a major brand name. Cost/worth more than my car!) My '95 Firefly/Metro ($500. Not a spot of rust. Needed work that took all of 2 hours to complete and didn't cost a dime) So, anyway, I thought I'd start a thread, where anyone could make a quick note of what they scored "today", or share their views on being "cheap". What's your deal of the day?

I found an armrest for my Fit for $34, it is just like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Honda-Armrest-Storage-08U89-TK6-112/dp/B006QMIKIK Pretty good deal considering Amazon sells that one cheaper than a dealership. |

Don't even get me excited again! I'm waiting for it to ship. Every car I've ever owned has come without an arm rest and usually I have to manage to modify one out of another vehicle to put in there, but this time I found something that looks promising! |

Nice find, Geogonfa! This is today's Craigslist deal... ![]() It's a professional push sweeper! Think of those silly little push-powered carpet sweepers, but on steroids...only this one actually works well. They don't make this particular model any more, but it appears to be about 10 years old. Modern version of it is worth over $500 new. I paid $35 Canadian...or 25 cents US. Back story to this...I take care of the property on which our condo resides, as a side job. I spotted a cheap Chinese push sweeper in a flyer for $150. Wanted one, but not at that price. not for cheap crap that will be broken in a year. Searched CL...no luck. Tried again out of the blue last night and found this guy. Only took a couple of weeks from when I realized I wanted one to actually getting one. Never happens that fast... (waited about 2 years to find a '95+ Metro/Firefly for cheap, for example). I swept the entire parking garage in about 15 or 20 minutes. Its about as much effort as mowing the law. Love it!

I bought 5x micro USB to USB for $3.99 on eBay. Not really too crazy since they sell like 1,000,000 of them daily, but it was better than Walmart. |

Ha. sweet. I love Ebay for cheap electronics...it took quite a bit of digging on there to find a deal for them, but i received my "Anderson connectors" in the mail today. These are what they use for large battery-powered equipment to unplug the battery from the machine. Came all the way from Australia or somewhere thereabouts. $20. Free shipping. Two of the 175-amp connectors, with lugs, for that price, and anotehr $20 for 12 of the little 50 amp ones! (they go for about $35 each locally for the big ones. saved $50 on those alone!) |

Sweet trailer. Meant for a motorcycle by chance? Mine's not much bigger, but it doesn't have the clam-shell on it, just a flat deck. I overloaded it with a bunch of queen size mattresses for it's first voyage. |

It is a Reese backpacker only made a few years it is very light weight. I had found it and a Coleman versa trailer .I picked this one it does need a few little things but both of them did just tires. I was in the middle of building a trailer for my swift and found both of these!with this one complete I thought it was the way to go! I think it is 4'x6' weighs 190 lbs. I installed tires hard to tell it is behind you it pulls real good.

Other "open box" items were only 10% or 20% off. Whatever, as long as it works in my favor!
