Just a hunch here, But I think there may have been a prison employee (or two) that was hoping the second guy would meet the same fate as the first or never be found.

Yeah, good job. Only took 800+ officers 3 weeks to catch 2 people and then only found them with the guidance of the public.

makes a person feel really safe, huh?

So these guys lived for ten years inside of the penal system and didn't think for one minute how to get far away from the prison? It was a cool prison break, full of neat cutting tools, chisels, and wandering around in the sewer system, yet they with so much time on their hands the idea of life after they got out never entered their minds? Makes me glad I have a bit of rural living under my belt.

The first guy who got shot was full of booze and bug bites. Why didn't they just grab a map and start walking through the forest? I guess the idea of how to procure food after the prison break didn't enter their minds, either.

They should have went down to the prison's library and checked out a few issues of Mother Earth News.

I believe they did have a plan....... the female that was arrested for helping them to escape was supposed to pick them up but she got cold feet and didn't.

How come it's okay to shoot unarmed men in the back all of a sudden? Don't get me wrong, I'm no bleeding heart, these guys were both scum and needed stopping. But there seems to have been no effort to just arrest them.

I asked my wife what this guy had done to be in jail. She said he shot a cop 20 times and then ran him over with a car. I guess the cops didn't have too much sympathy for him nor didn't even care if they got him dead or alive.

Guess if you live by the gun, you get "caught" by the gun.

You mean when they encountered him and told him to stop, freeze, put your hands up, whatever, but he turned and started to run, then they shot him?

Were they supposed to say , "SHOOT! Oops, I mean DAMN!, he's running away AGAIN! How about we just let him run for now and hopefully when/IF we find him again in another three weeks or so he won't turn and run this time and will remain facing us, so if we shoot him it won't look so bad..." ;)
