have your handicaped mom redister the car in her name then just pay her, just remember when you get pulled over and they ask whos car it is you say "my moms" one massive beef i have about insurance is its more expencive for guys yet i see more girls wreck cars than guys why is that? my car is my pridr and joy so i be really carefull to stay back stay away from people because i dont want it crashed and so far its worked almost 1million miles and its worked for me ![]() cheapest insurance is to have some one older insure it, then claim the car from a different county so no more smog checks or saftey checks and BOOM your in the clear Edited by ZXTjato, Jul 1 2015, 09:53 AM.

I'm With Allstate And I Pay $372.00 For 6 Months Liability Only For My Francisca. ('90 4Dr.) I Think The Reason Why Mine Might Be High (Some Of You Guys Have Me Beat And Are Paying Less.) Is Due To The Fact That I Live (Wrong, Am FORCED TO LIVE!) In An Inferior State And City. Yes I Am Talking About California And Los Angeles San Fernando Valley, Sorry. Also I Think It's Bullshit That WOMEN Get All The Breaks And Pay Less Than Men, That's Sexist And Racist In My Opinion. I Agree With You ZXTjato, Why Do They Pay Less Yet Get In Wrecks So Often. Also Women Can Get Out Of Traffic Tickets Just By How They DRESS Or How LITTLE They Dress, Yet Men Get Burned By The Police And Insurance Companies, That To Me Is A CROCK!! Also, In My Blunt Blatant Opinion, The Worst Drivers And The Most Aggressive Drivers: PICKUP TRUCKS (Especially JACKED UP PICKUPS!😠!) And SUVS And LUXURY CARS Should Pay The MOST And Get BURNED The WORST By Insurance Companies And Law Enforcement Because Let's Face It, 1: They're All RICH, And 2: They All FUCKING DESERVE IT! Yet GEO METRO Drivers, And SINGLE MEN In Said Geo Metro, Get It The Worst! Welcome To The UNITED STATES OF AMÉRICA😠😟! |

Giving up a career and family is tough man That's why I'm stuck down here in Florida, the only state I would consider nearly as bad as California. I've considered myself lucky as far as insurance goes. I got a good student discount in high school and college, I did drivers education, I joined the military and I currently collect several good driver discounts along with multicar discounts. My insurance does cover two people for $101, so it is about $50 for me. Plus I have 4 cars on my insurance, which is not unheard of, but is not typical. I believe they slightly penalize me for having so many vehicles with myself as the primary driver. |

At least FL's state income tax is lower than CA's! ![]() You know, it makes so much more sense to insure the individual than it does to insure vehicles. I am the only driver in our family and I have three vehicles on insurance. At no time could two-thirds of my fleet be at risk for a moving accident, but I am a risk factor 100% of the time any of them are being operated. Base the insurance on my driving record and demographic risk rating. For instance, I fall into the "old fart" group, and my record is clean, so I would pay among the lowest rates in my demographic. A 20-yo male with three tickets and two accidents and not going to any form of higher ed would be rated accordingly, but based on his own record and not on his car, although there could be an adjustment factor for such cases. A bad driver is a bad driver, whether driving an '88 Hyundai Excel or a new Camaro. Same for a good driver. In the vast majority of cases it isn't the car that causes the crash. |

You mean 0% income tax? Haha. We have other taxes. I recall an adage that basically said, "We are all getting screwed the same, just in different ways." Anyway, I do believe you are correct on how the insure to an extent. In Florida, most of your insurance premium is just for having yourself insured. Vehicles are very cheap unless you carry some kind of full coverage, and even then they do not rival the cost of a person. I would say driving record comes first, cost of vehicle (in the event of a total loss) comes second, and that should be all that really matters. But I'm not going to complain about my insurance too much. |

My geo is insured for liability, only. My F-150 is insured for liability, only. My Odyssey is full coverage. Total per month for all three is like $90ish. My geo costs more to insure than the Odyssey. Ain't that a kick in the pants? Young 'uns are always gonna pay for the sins of the elders. hehe. Sucks to be 18, but I'd like to go back in time and begin to do things differently with my finances. I'd save every spare dime I could so when I got to be 50 I could have a million bucks in the bank and I could retire. Working when your 50 sucks, but it keeps the heart healthy and the feet out of the bars. Learn from your elders, grasshopper. Save money, now, and learn how to live frugally. |

Age is your biggest issue. Your age, not the car. Each car is assigned a symbol. They use that number to dictate (along with other factors,) the rate you pay for insurance. That's why my '07 Camry and my '92 Geo aren't that much different in premium for just basic coverage. Sadly they also use your credit score as a factor as well, supposed to be more responsible and therefore a better driver which I never understood... I assume that since your only 19, you probably don't have much credit, either good or bad. That being said, your best bet is to shop around. Different companies use different rates and discounts so you could see a few hundred dollars difference between companies, just make sure you are getting the same coverage quoted. Some agents skimp on things to make your $ cheaper and you won't always notice. Car insurance isn't as bad as home on that just something to be aware of. When you shop around, call local agents as well as online shopping. I know companies like Progressive give you discounts for buying online instead of an agent, but most agents ( independent agents) represent more than one company and can give you a quote for several companies at one time. It's also nice to have an agent in case something happens you have someone local to call. Hope this helps. |

If you really want cheap car insurance, buy it, print off the ins card, then cancel it. HAHA. Just don't ever get into a wreck...ever! (some sarcasm and truth there) I mean in all reality if car insurance wasn't mandated, I wouldn't have it. Just like health insurance.....oh wait I still don't have that BECAUSE IT IS FUCKING MORE EXPENSIVE FOR ME NOW THEN IT WAS JUST A FEW YEARS AGO! (I shit you not) |
