I was doing a search in Google images and ran across several pictures of 98- 2001 body style metros with the corner light portion of the headlight assembly that were clear. I can't seem to find replacements like that. Anyone know where to get them or how they are being modified?

You don't need to do photobucket if you found the image on Google!
Just post the link that you found the image at! :)

Ok, so from here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/620059/2000-chevrolet-metro/

Could easily be that they just did what Woodie did... Heat the headlight on low heat in the oven until the adhesive gets soft, gently pry halves apart, remove amber reflector, stick it all back together.

Is there a post how to do that? I was told to put them in an oven at 200 for 10 min. Is that right?

Thanks Woodie. What do I use to reattach the cover? some kind of silicon seal?
If you're lucky you can just reheat and reassemble. The best way is to clean it all off of there and use black RTV to glue it back together, then you're sure to get if sealed 100% all the way around. I just stuck mine back together with the same factory sealant that was already on there and they didn't leak at all, but that's probably just luck and not the best way to do it.

Set your oven on the lowest temperature it has and then pop the light assemblies in there for five minutes. Easy to overdo on this step, err on the side of caution. I'd also get the oven up to temperature and turn it off as I put the lights in. I don't think the temperature regulation is very tight on most ovens.

Oh, sorry, thought that was common knowledge. 5 to 10 minutes at the lowest setting your oven has, usually 200 to 250. Can't hurt to take them out early, they just won't come apart easily, can always be put back in. I just put mine back together as best they would go then put them back in the oven, then pressed them together while hot and they sealed right back up. Been four years or so ago.

No problem, easy to dig up the info when you can remember who said it; Woodie is the only one I know of, that's talked (semi-frequently) about this mod.
Aside from myself, referencing him. :lol

That guy's a jerk, don't listen to anything he says. B-)

Don't really have anything to add, Mythstae has pretty much covered it by channeling an earlier me. Here's a more recent picture after the car was taken down off the stilts:

"Don't listen to anything said by someone who said don't listen to anything he says..." :hmm

Talk about a headache... :O

Personally, I think it be easier to just ignore you and listen to what you say. :D

Cool, I want to do the same thing and do the mk5 lights in the mk4 using the factory guppy bumper turn signals, but was thinking about putting some bright led bulbs in the inboard portions (DRL lights I'm guessing?) wired to come on with my aftermarket driving lights to act as a second set of driving lights.
So the amber lens just come out when you split the assembly?
