Woodie... if you can believe it, I've seen those before, although not in person - ran across them while internet-shopping random wheels.
And as for actually using them...
...
...not even if someone bought them FOR me :lol

Wow, dinging a purist. Yes, looks don't matter so much for a purist who is after best MPG.

If you are after best MPG you are going to have to let go of the looks.

On the other hand if you want better looks and just good/okay MPG then you can very choices.

I have two rear view mirrors on the outside, I used to have just the one for a XFI but went to two for viewing safety cold go to two inside I suppose.

I used to have moon shaped hub caps, which look decent but hold dirt on the inside and you can see your lug nuts.

I have thought about aero mods but man, most look bad and I work at a company with a number of ah... snobs... who don't mind commenting on your car. I get tired9 ;) of it.

I have gone to nicer wheels but am still getting close to 50 MPG.

I like seeing the ultimate in best modes for MPG

Yeah but that's the thing - "looks" are COMPLETELY subjective.
What I think looks great is not the same as what YOU think looks great, is not the same as what Woodie, mwebb, etc etc, thinks looks great. It's ALL personal opinion.

Not even if MMM powder coated them purple? :D :D

Important to note here that just because the hub bolt pattern fits, does not mean that the fender geometry will accommodate the rubber wrapped around them.

I've already GOT a purple teddy bear, thanks! :rasp (But seriously, I do. Not very purple anymore, had it since I was quite young.)

That's EXACTLY why I started this thread!! Because the part that'd make it fit or not fit is partially due to the offset, yes? And also the tire size, and also the width of the wheel.

I like the hyndai alloys quite a bit, and they would allow me to run my favorite 185 65r14 tire size, but what I would really like the most would be some 15x5.5 wheels. These are extremely rare, and could run 185 60r15 tires for a hassle free fit. There are plenty of 15x6 wheels available, but as soon as you start looking for the 5.5, there is hardly anything available.

I have a set of alloys from an RX7 with the right bolt pattern, but no offset. When I try to put them on the Metro, they stick out so far they make it look like a roller skate! Not wanting to put 2" fender flairs on it, I still have a set of RX7 rims sitting in the garage.

Hey we have two sets of those same exact rims, we like them.

If you need a speedo gear for the 13s, I have two, you can HAVE one. Just tell me where to send it.

Just from looking at the picture, there are likely much more effective mods not done compared to adding plastic covers over an already hubcapped wheel, and ones that wouldn't affect the looks one bit to boot.

And unless you know the extent of modifications that anyone in particular has or has not actually done, and exactly how the car is being driven, in my opinion using the word "purist" is a bit of a mischaracterization. Hobbyist may be a more appropriate term. Or maybe they just like plastic covers on their hubcaps to preserve their condition like people put plastic on their couches... :dunno

Your moon disc hubcaps not only rock in the looks department ( :thumb ), they have a smooth transition in width across the diameter, which is a good thing if they can't be "flat" by minimizing the impact on both Cd and frontal area, or CdA. I really love the looks of those on yours and have considered getting a set and possibly painting them with Duplicolor Metalcast (red, of course) for mine.. :thumb

M, get the wheels that look the best to you... :thumb You SURE you can't get into the idea of purple teddy bears wheels? I think they would scare me, but for whatever reason I kind of dig the idea of possibly knowing someone who has them. :D

Sure, that's right! Get someone else to eat a raw toad in the morning so you can brag on what a brave kid she is!! I can see what kind of guy you are, flyboy!! ;) ;)

I wouldn't use a wheel I thought was just "the cutest thing in the world!!" if I knew it would have fitment issues,
Not even these?

Those belong on a Saturn. A purple one. One owned by a 16 yo girl, and that has a giant decal of a Unicorn in the back window, and a bunch of feathery suncatchers hanging from the rear view mirror. Could even be a law. Who knows? :dunno

MMM-"Um,... I got standards... No, just... no."

Sounds like someone missed this mornings episode of Wow Wow Wubbzy.

A juice box and some animal crackers should do the trick.

P.S. Do I have to think of everything?
