Not sure where to post this request. Stupid question, but are there any threads on how to assemble the glove box for a '94 Metro? Can't seem to find anything. I am still waiting on my glove box door, but I have the black plastic inside piece, or the "box". I have a little bag of screws here, but I can't seem to figure out how the box goes together. Does it attach to the door? Before I put it together, is there any kind of cabin air filter behind it that I should replace? Thanks!

Also, if I never get my glove box door, does anyone on here have an extra one cheap? I am still waiting on the seller. I believe I have all the screws. That would be awesome!

the plastic part inside there is no filter for the cabin, but the top has a clip that holds the cable steady as you run the fresh\recirculate slider, so when you put it together be mindful of that. i think there is some documentation of this in my red car build

Did you already try the Factory Service Manual thread instructions for removal/installation?

If not, you may want to check out Section 8C, "Instrument panel, Gauges and Console," page 4.

Still have the 1994 FSM bookmarked, mr. member with the cool first and middle initials? ;)?

I honestly didn't know that the FSM was detailed to the point of glove box removal/installation. I will go check that now... slowly. Forget not, I am currently downgraded to Windows 98 with a 40 KB connection speed (on a good day). My download speed averages 2.8 KB. Seriously... :banghead

How do you know my middle initial? :ermm:

Because you already told me your first name, I justguessed that you also used your middle initial as well, and they are the same as mine, so when I "mt" I think of my first two initials. :lol

Would you like me to copy and paste those FSM pages into this thread for you?

It would be ironic, but no, my middle initial is "B". Still cool initials, though. :lol

If you would like to copy the pages for me, I would be grateful. I haven't even tried to view or download them yet, but I don't think I even have adobe on this machine. Even if I did, it would probably be a half an hour download for the pages I need. Thank you :)

Surprisingly, this forum works pretty smoothly, even with this old browser. Until I hit a project page with a dozen or so photos... :smackface

I went out to get french fries :D

So far, only the title page loaded. It says "loading" at the bottom, but the page reads "done", and stopped loading. There is no option to download like on my other computer. If you would like to post the pages here, that would be great. Otherwise, I will borrow someone's computer tomorrow. Thanks!

Thanks! Just need a door now... :shake

Boy, these glove boxes sure seem small. Looks like the papers rest on the actual door, instead of the inner glove box compartment...? Just so as long as it's enough to hold the owners manual and my registration papers. I have the title in my asbestos insulated fire safe. :D
