Hi GMF, I recently purchased my 1995 LSi 3/5 for $420 with 210,340miles on the odometer. I bought her to offset my gas hog Nissan Xterra named Emma. ![]() When I picked her up, she didnt start or idle. A few days later I had her starting on her own. The next day I picked up a new PCV valve and some B-12 chemtool and got her to idle. Ran a compression check and check plug gaps. Plugs were all at 0.037 and compression was at 110/65/35 which mean a rebuild is in store. I found that the rear fender wells are rusted and those will have to be repaired. Once every of those issues are remedied I will start actually building the geo metro that will turn heads. ![]() ![]() This doesnt look promising ![]() That would explain it ![]()

Pretty rusty back there. Now the really important part. What does the frame horns up front look like. Have you tried to lightly hammer a screwdriver thru the rust on them? |

Today I went ahead and pulled the timing belt cover off to confirm cam timing was on. Also stuck a timing light in the bay ad found that the car is running 14* advanced which is making it run... BARELY. More reasons to get this engine torn down and rebuilt. Cleaned as much of the dirt and mud out of the engine bay as I possibly could with the garden hose and a can of Gunk. Which yielded great results. ![]() After I washed the bay down, I inspected the frame horns. They look very clean and still very solid. I did miss some of the dirt down lower...uhhgg ![]() Quick little sunset-ish picture I grabbed ![]() And for Sh*tz and gigs a picture of what the Metro is replacing as my daily driver- 2001 Nissan Xterra picture taken in Moab,Utah

There is a black spot on the frame horn close to where the rust meets the paint on the corner. Is that black spot a rust hole? |

so the water would spray up into the car soak into the butt of the foam seat and stay wet for a while? bet that smelled like fresh roses or a cool ocean breeze, just want to stick your face on it and inhale all the aroma. |

More like musty feet and rodent repellent... I have had air fresheners in the car for the past few days and the smell is finally going away. Hopefully have the car into work next week so I can patch those holes, oil change, and a few other things. |

Cracked plastics? No Problem!!! Did some stitchwork to help preserve the front bumper. Going to fill the hole with a sheet of aluminum and zip tie it in place.

Zombie metro. Or at least a bit Frankenstein looking, with those stitches. That's actually pretty cool looking! |

Did some more work over the last couple days. Pulled the rusted up battery tray out, wire wheeled it as best I could and repainted it flat black. Hopefully this will hold up a while ![]() Look how clean it was under the tray, not even that much dirt! ![]() Pulled the shift boots out of their place to inspect the bushing and do the polyurathane addition to stiffen it up a little
