Sometimes when I am driving up in the mountains, I notice that when going up steep inclines, my motor will shut off and it takes me 10-15 minutes to get it started again. It doesn't overheat, but the idle gets lower and it just shuts off. What could be causing this? |

Yeah I was going to say it could be a fuel issue. Can you test the fuel pressure? You could try changing out the fuel filter - it a pretty straight forward changeover. |

Look for injector spray the next time it turns off. I understand if these aren't getting spark, they won't get fuel either so that isn't a perfect test. Check for spark too. Like the others, I do suspect a fuel issue before something spark related. Conor |

wonder if it could be a sensor that takes care of higher altitudes, does the metro even have one? if it does maybe the high altitude sensor or what ever does it for higher up in the mountains is out of sync or going bad and you didnt notice it until you were higher up in the mountains and finally needed it? i dunno but it was a thought. redline |

Pound your fist on the catylitic convertor and listen for a rattle. If it makes some noise it could be the innards came loose and is plugging up your exhaust. Ken............ |
