t3, I have definitely seen "purple" cleaners eat anodize off aluminum, but Simple Green has never shown me any damage. We keep it for washing kart racing tires (on dirt) but since it's on hand, I've used it for cleaning engines, wheelwells and tires during regular car washes, and even a laundry pre-wash. Many moons ago, when I drove an oil truck for a living, I used it in my laundry to get rid of fuel oil stains and smell. Pretty good stuff, around 8 bucks a gallon at Wal-Mart or Lowes. |
