Can you post pictures of the wire you were originally talking about, and pictures of where it is connected on both ends?
This is the wire I wondered if it was a ground or a sensor..We'll I guess not .I don't know how to get an http:/ URL. for my photo. But it is just above where the manifold bolts to the front exhust pipe. If I can figure it out I will send this one and one of the distributor ground wire. .

Is that a picture saved on your computer or what. I attempted to go to the address and it doesn't pull anything up. You have to use a picture hosting site and use the link from the site to get it to show up. If you used something like drop box, I haven't found a way to make those links work either.

What you are describing on the exhaust manifold is the O2 sensor.

It is a picture on my smart phone. I downloaded photo bucket and up loaded the photo to it took the https:// address from that site and typed it into the geo metro forums pop up window that says HTTPS:// Adress here. Maybe it just won't work because I use a phone for all this . As I have no desktop computer.

I can do a post from my phone, bit it's kinda a pain. When working up a post, click the preview button to confirm everything is showing up the way you want. When using a photobucket account, click the share button and you want the IMG link if I remember correctly.

The Oxygen Sensor wire is the wire you originally posted about being melts in the middle at the clip?

No that was a ground wire from the coil to the engine block , it bolted to a bolt next to the distributor but not actually the bolts that tighten the the distributor adjustment.

Cool. It normally goes on one of the bolts at the distributor base to the engine block. Is that wire still getting hot?
