Yes, if you know it is the switch. But these cars have some issues with wiring and fuse issues. It is always best to Just find the problem and fix it. I bought a car with a Jerry rigged switch for the headlights. I ended up replacing the whole harness fixing all the wire splices.

The fuse panel is another area you should check closely. There are a few threads about this in the Tech Forums.

All you'd have to do to replace the pushbuttons with toggles is get the wiring diagram and trace out the wires you want, then extend them to the place you'll be mounting your switches. It's doable, but it'll be a royal pain in the butt.

If you're feeling like taking a more elegant approach and you're into masochistic self-punishment, read how I converted the pushbutton switches in my '91 to the column-mounted combination switch setup.

Of course, as bjetmech says, if the actual problem is elsewhere, none of this will fix it. Diagnose first, then fix!

Actually, I have a cowl with the light and wiper switches (with intermittent) in it that I'm not doing anything productive with since I took it out of my car ...

It even has all the buttons ...
