Oh, Awesome!! I couldn't find it through the search, but I guess it helps if you know exactly what to search for. That says it's for the M18-15. I've seen two numbers given out: M18-15 and the M16-15. How do I know which is the correct one to order for my car? |

One of you had mentioned this website: http://www.r1concepts.com for getting brakes. Good experiences with them? They ship to Canada. They don't have any spindle/stake nuts, but the live chat person said they can have someone contact me on Monday as well to see if there are any options available. Looks like I have a couple places to check (including NAPA). Just need to be certain it's the M18-15 I'm needing for the rear? Thanks everyone for all your information, help, pictures, and support. So much appreciated! I love my little '95 Geo Metro and want to keep it running for as long as I can. And I also have a 1995 Swift that my son will be learning to drive, too. They are both in very good condition with low mileage. As a single parent, it's been so helpful to have cheap little cars to drive around. I would be very devastated to have to give up on my little cars just because I can't find a part. Edited by Jenny, Sep 18 2015, 09:45 PM.

I believe your axle thread size is M16-1.5 which will require the part number I gave in a latter post of NOE-630-1644. I could be wrong. I really do not remember if I bought this nut for my 95 metro or a earlier year model and if there is a differance in size between year model axles. Sorry to make it more confusing but one of those sizes should fix you up, just a matter of which one. Only enter the 630-1644 in the search field. Again these are not exactly like the ones that came with the car but they will work. As to brake parts, they are for the most part readily available and should not pose a problem to get. |

Thank you, Memphis metro. Is there any certain way I can know what is the correct part? I think the M16-15 are for the front and the M18-15's are for the rear? I can get parts for the front locally, but the parts guy told me there is nothing for the rear. I'll try following up some of the leads given to me here and see if anything works out ![]() |

Order both! Use the one that fits and return the other. |

They show the rears on their website at napa but that is not unusual for them to show they have it but when you get to the store they do not. I do not know how many major parts suppliers you have locally but each chain store usually has a major outlet store not far away that sometimes has what the smaller stores do not. Those pads should be somewhere close to you.

oops, I only have book 2 of 2 for 96, brakes are in book 1, so I cant verify. either size, this is a non-specific item. it is used by Toyota and ford, and others. it makes no difference "who's name" is on it. a nut is a nut is a nut. just search "m18x1.5 stake nut" you will get a list of suppliers. by the way you can compare the threads to an O2 sensor, which is M18x1.5, for sure. |

Thanks everyone!!! So very helpful!! ![]() I haven't gotten on this just yet, as my 1995 Swift was recently shot. The police have told me there was an altercation with some people, shots were fired, and my car was hit. At least I wasn't in it! A bullet went through the back light and yet came to a stop at the back seat. They cut the fabric open and found the bullet. But now I have to figure out whether insurance will cover that and how to get those repairs done. But, I am very impressed that that back seat was able to stop a bullet! I still can't believe this happened. I can't believe someone shot my car!!! ![]() I've been working hard to keep my little cars running, and then a weird curveball like this strikes. *sigh* Edited by Jenny, Sep 23 2015, 09:20 PM.

Not much to a back seat, must not have been much of a bullet. The window is pretty substantial though, I guess that used up a lot of the energy. Great story, bad luck. |

Now that's something you don't hear very often... ![]() I can think of one "they all hate Metros" conspiracy theorist who would have a field day with this one... ![]() And sorry to hear about this unusual damage to your car. |

If the bullet came through the back light and stopped in the back seat, it was probably slowed down quite a bit as it passed through the sheet metal behind the light. Sorry to hear about your bad luck with your car! |

You're probably right. I just heard back from insurance today and they said they won't cover the damages as a gun shot is considered a "flying peril" which is not covered under my policy. I can't believe it. There have only been 3 gun incidents in my city in the past 2 years and just one involving a car which just so happens to be my car which I was parking for the winter.
