I have search around this forum but still not sure how to fix this issue. The driver side headlight is bright and the pass HL dim. (@11volts) I have changed out the PS socket, and checked the fuses, I looked for burned connections at the fuse panel and that all looks fine. I have cleaned the fender grounds. If I check the power at the fuse panel I seem to have 12.3 volts at several pins on the HL plug. With the DT running lights on the pass light is dim and the drivers bright. HL on at switch no lights. I see in my 2000 service manual schematic a red wire feeds both HL's I exposed the entire wiring harness on the 1995 and don't see a connection splitting the red wire. Any ideas would be appreciated. |

Have you tried to rig a ground to that headlight to see if it gets brighter? |

You need to find the splice between the lights, They can corrode. |

I don't know if the 95 is the same as the 94, but it's good bet using the 1994 FSM is more likely to match what you have than 2000. ![]() The service manual schematics tell you exactly where each item in the system (splice, connector, ground, etc.) can be found. For example: The schematic in Section 8A-100, Electrical Diagnosis - Headlights shows the splice (S213) after and between the LH and RH headlights to be located on the cabin side of and between the P200 and P201 pass throughs. (link>>)1994 FSM Setion 8A-201 Electrical Diagnosis, Headlights At the end of the Electrical Diagnosis section for each individual system, there is also a list of each item in that system along with a brief description of their location, as well as the page #where they can be found in Section 8A-201, Location Views. S213......................................Main Harness, approximately 12 cm from Stoplamp Switch connector branch breakout. (Standard Emissions) ....... 201-12/A (Upgraded Emissions) ...... 201-14/A On page 201-14 you can find S213 shown near the top of the diagram. (link >>) 1994 FSM, Section 8A-201, Electrical Diagnosis, Component Location Views I would also consider you could possibly have an issue with the individual RH feed wire from the H/L RH fuse. Good luck! And if you already knew how to use the FSM to find the splices/pass throughs, connectors, grounds, etc using the schematics, I apologize for repeating that information.

Thanks for all the help. With this information I should be able to fix this issue before the kid takes off for College. |

After you have fixed the problem with the help above and you want to get the full 14v to the lights, check out this link. <----- There is a link to a teamswift page that helps get full power to the headlights. |

Wiring diagram from 95 FSM for fuse and head light wiring. See if you are getting battery voltage at the fuses. Then check and see what voltage you are getting at the head light. If it is not the same you have a wiring problem.

Hey free, can you post the schematic from 8A-100 and the component location view page from 8A-201 showing the splice after and between the two headlights? Since the power distribution shows the wiring using the same pass through (P200) I'm thinking the rest of the circuit (including the location of the splice) may be different than the 94.

I had the exact same problems on my 95 a little over a year ago-the no lights when turned on problem was caused by a burned pin on one of the wire plugs that goes into the fusebox-fixed it using the geo rating repair explained elsewhere on the forum-I sweated for days trying to fix the dim right headlight-checked the entire white red wire run as best I could-finally fixed it by running a fused by-pass wire from my positive battery post to the white red wire on my headlight socket-(all 3 wires on the socket have to have power if the headlights are working properly-at all times) |

That splice is in the engine compartment in front to the driver. Kinda below the relay box. |

Woodie is correct. It is between the rubber grommet (just below the master cylinder) coming through the firewall and the relay box.![]() |

Thanks folks: my headlights are now bright. John Law should have no issues with my Son. Now I need to resolve the tail light issue. I think I bumped the splice in that some bundle, it was filled with green water and that splice look suspect. |

Glad to here you got it straightened out. If something looks suspect you should take care of it before it causes you other problems. |
