My old used one lasted a year. Now it keeps cutting out on me and has been getting worse. When I installed it, along with 4 new speakers, and all new wiring. I soldered all the wires to the radios factory connector. I was thinking the wires were bad but all seems ok with them.
So for $89 I picked up a new JVC. No CD player (I can't remember the last time Iplayed a CD). It's loaded with features & looked like a good deal with good reviews. Gonna tackle it this weekend. I know it's a long shot, but hopefully the radio connector is the same. It would save me some time!

I would say there is a good chance that the harness connector will fit in your new radio, but one thing to watch out for is loose wires in the connector. I have had that issue with a sony radio in the past, causing the radio to cut out.

harness will prob be different due to the jvc/kenwood merger. colors are the same but the plug will prob be different. love the jvc units.

I put the new radio in yesterday. About a yr ago I installed 4 new speakers and a used radio. While removing the radio yesterday I discovered what was likely a bad ground. So in retrospect I prolly could have gotten away with the one that I had. But since I had already bought the new one & had it removed I figgered I would just put the new one in. The connector was different so all wires had to be cut, spliced & soldered.
I'm amazed with what you can get these days for under 100 bucks. Blue Tooth, Hands free phone calls, 50 watts per channel, & it sounds great. I installed the microphone up out of the wind, near my head, in the upper left corner of the windshield. I was able to easily have a conversation whill going 50 mph on secondary roads with the top down.
