I replaced all the fuses I know of in my 92 metro convertible. But still dont have any tail running lights or dash lights. Really dont know where to start to find the issue. I do know the trunk had been wet long enough at some point to corrode the fixtures. Someone put one replacement light socket in and it does not work anyway. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

The common points in the wiring for those lights are the combination switch on the column and the connector to the junction block under the dash. You can start start by inspecting the connector(s) near the lower right corner of the fuses and see if there are any obvious burnt/dark wires or connectors. I'm not familiar with the 92+ light switches, so I don't know if trying to spray electrical contact cleaner inside the switch and exercising it would do any good or not.

I do not see any burnt areas in the wires or connectors. But I did notice that a previous owner has had the fuse box out because when they put it back, screws that hold the box in place are missing. So it looks like a mess up under there |

First...Welcome to the Fun... ...now, the Metro operates on grounds, so using a test light make sure your getting power at the tail light fuse first..this would be the third fuse on the side that has seven fuses in a row, should be a blue 15 amp.

the next one to check for power would be the Back fuse, this would be the one in the middle of the side with five fuses...a red 10 amp one... then check the yellow wire from the combination switch... |

Wow Thanks so much. The Blue 15 amp you spoke of was indeed out. Replaced and now have the tail and park lights. Suspect there may be something that will burn it out again so will keep some spares. I got this car for free in return for a favor I did for my nephew years ago when he needed help. Turns out I really like this car and want to learn about it. So the next thing to tackle will be getting the top replaced because someone who had it in the past thought it would be ok to put the top down while going down the highway, not a very good idea. |

The screws that hold the box in grounds that system. Replace the screws to ground the copper lugs on the fuse panel. |
