1996 geo metro LSI 3 cylinder. with a po301 trouble code
I changed the 3 spark plugs and wires and distributor cap and rotor.
it an good and still runs good , no problems .
the spark plugs all where clean with a nice lite burn could have still used them .
no noise , no rough idle , still can hit 85 mph no problem
just can not get rid of the po301 code
any questions just ask
it runs good . that is why I have no other things to say about it.

Thought about this code tonight at work. Two things came to mind. Since you have done a tune up on the ignition components the only thing left is a bad cylinder that would need a compression test done to verify that it is bad. A bad signal from crank position sensor due to a damaged ring on the timing gear. Picture with blue arrows. See if this part of the timing gear is damaged.

Has the crank pulley or timing gear had any damage to it that you know of? Do you have your timing cover on the engine? If you do not have the correct tools or ability to do the test do you have a friend or a mechanic that can?
