So is an oven, but I wouldn't stick my head in one.

In an ironic turn of events, I found this on Facebook this morning...
Temps in Arizona
Some of the pics are great, plastic mailboxes melting, people baking cookies in their cars.

Now, imagine yourself sitting in a black car, with no air conditioning, stuck in a traffic jamb. Welcome to hell on Earth.

I have a thermo probe in my car so i can check my ac etc. The other day it was 162 air temp in my car, and if any one remembers my project on how well insulated my geo is, 162 is not bad. Now those people who drive no ac like that in traffic, just get cranky and will run every thing over to get out of the heat.

Luckily, my no-A/C having car is in my garage, and I'm not one of those driving around right now.

How do you get ice cream home? Or do you just stand there and eat it at the checkout counter?

You know it's pretty bad when, you have to fly all the way to the Arabian desert, just to escape the Arizona heat.

And, I can't say I escaped it, just added in humidity. :'(

so after tearing up the entire thing i went in on the sheet rock and mud installing an LED light. its a lot deeper now that i deleted that dead space.

Posted Image

went to the home store and got some peel and stick floor tiles for almost $6 for all 6 then i used some ultra cheap base boards and some glue to stick them on and seal up all the gaps and cracks around .

Posted Image

and here we are, hides all the nasty sheet rock with mud to cover up, painted a nice bright white for easy vision into the back for things. i designed the lowest shelf so my mop bucket and shop vac fit perfect under the shelf and that is where they live pretty much permanently.

so i have been tripping over these poorly placed brick stones since i moved in, then i had this brilliant idea to rip them all up and make a storage space for my geo parts that can be out side but i dont want to be in full unprotected sitting in the dirt space.

Posted Image

i used some crushed granite under the stones and just set them down and used some water to really pack them down into place.

Posted Image

after sweeping in some small sand and stone mix it will take a little time but they will settle down into solid position soon.

Posted Image

then i got this other brilliant idea to make a roof out of the fence planks that the bottom had been rotted off so i set up my chop saw with some stops and cut a bunch of old fence planks into equal length. so i set to work building a basic frame.

Posted Image

its strong enough to hold me up so i suppose thats going to have to do.

Posted Image

so here we are a basic roof over my brick spot to hide my junk ^o)

so after i decided that the structure i made was good enough i decided wow i have a lot of crap to store so i make a cool storage bench to hold tires.

Posted Image

made from the studs from metal building construction i just welded them together and wham bam here you go, tire holder.

Posted Image

after moving it into place i realized its not good enough so i made a modification to hold long pipes and other long items i had sitting around.

Posted Image

welded on some Sheppard hook style things and put all the stuff up there and its hidden, out of the way and easy to get to if i need building material.

now it seems i have run out of wood for the fence and i dont have a truck, i need a sheet of tin to finish off my car port what is a geo guy to dooooooo :whistle

Posted Image

take two geos! :evillol :evillol :evillol

Posted Image

the next day i went a bought another batch of fence planks in the peace geo.

Posted Image

with annas help she set to oil dip all the wood while i slammed it up on the fence dug holes and set cement :bacondance

Posted Image

in my opinion it looks very nice.

Posted Image

with that side of the yard wrapping up i decided to organize my engine situation and i welded up a stand from metal i had just sitting around. holds 2 metro engines on top and 1 DOHC on the lowest peg, out of the rain, out of the weather and up on the stand not taking up a ton of floor space. That shelf i got was free so i fixed it up and had to screw it to the wall because it was super crap tasticly flimsy. a few screws run into the wall its strong enough to hold some parts.

Posted Image

since i made room with the tire rack, the engine stand and the shelf unit i started to unload my cars from last year when i moved into this house. its time to start on my projects and get a move on my turbo wagon desert car and a place to keep up on my red car.

Great work dude! Your place is really coming together and you are slowly adding in value as well. When I get back home, I so need to make sense of my garage. Organization is crucial. I look forward to more house and project car updates. :thumb
