""Big project and a learning experience.""

In regards to building/rebuilding/repairing a house----That is a VERY true statement.

Yes!! "Oooooh! DeeeeeeWALT! That's a real drill."
I bought the cheapest battery operated one I could find in Home Depot several years ago. Came with two batteries and a battery charger. Been used/abused. Wife dropped it off the roof. I used it in a pouring rain til it wouldn't run anymore, put it in the oven for a couple hours and it went back to 'normal'. Still using the original batteries. Power will almost twist your wrist off. Best $90 investment I have made.

The pictures just stretch my web browser for some reason. Normally, my browser will adjust the photos to be smaller. But these are like 3x the size of my screen.

:+1

Same issue here, about 3X the size of my screen. I tried to read everything and look at the pictures, but it was really hard and I finished with a minor headache... :lol I don't have a small 800X600 res. screen anymore either; it's a wide-screen 15" laptop monitor. Maybe it's just Internet Explorer? I'll have to test it in firefox.

Edit: Nope. Same result on Firefox. I was so glad when we got to page 2. :lol

ok so here we have the master bedroom. walls have been painted a nice gray and coral color. the bed sheets spreads furnature and tile are all complementary colors so every thing will match by the end of this. Sarah is an interior designer so she knows what she is doing, im color blind so i dont care about colors on walls.

here is the game room, this painting has colors in it that match the furnature and rug greens browns and blacks for the electronics. wall is green like the fox...like i said color blind so it all looks the same to me but she said its nice so i trust that :thumb

gray is the theme of the house 3 gray walls accented by 1 colored wall, master was corral, game room is green and the other rooms are not sure of yet. the decor is her thing, she asks if i like it i just say yea because i do not really mind what it looks like because i am more functional, than fashion.

Color is cool! :thumb

I never got the accent wall thing myself, however. My sister likes it, but it kinda bugs me. I prefer the classic "boring" satin Antique White on the walls, with darker finished wood trim. If some jagoff painted the beautiful finished trim in a house, I usually paint it a darker brown, to kind of mimic a wood finish color. I already have a gallon of white semigloss for upstairs/kitchen trim, and darker brown semi for the living room/steps, both in oil ready for my house. Bought them from a local hardware store, because interior oil based paint is getting really hard to come by. I much prefer oil on the trim. I told my girlfriend she could pick the color of the master bedroom and baby's room upstairs, and the bathroom if she wants, it she'll leave my antique white with darker brown trim in the livingroom and hallway alone! :thumb I am not crazy about interior design, but I just like a plain, classic look. I am pushing for a pale olive green in the kitchen, because it will look awesome with finished oak cabinets. Then again, anything would look better than the showing studs and what remains of the electrical wires/plumbing that is in the kitcen now! :lol

How long have you owned your house, ZXT?

how long have we owned the house? ohhhh almost a week. 6 days actually. classic is great if thats your thing, im fine with classic as well but i guess were going for a modern look.... i suppose thats whats popular. even tho i dont want any one over, i am not that social in person, online i can chat with people from all over but i do not like people coming over, so i guess the house will look good to us :rofl

so i was staining the new wood and i dont think it works so great, the new wood is not soaking in the stain that well, you can see it puddle at the lowest point on the 2x4. the old wood around the yard stains real nice, gets that dark finish on it. guess ill have to wait for the new wood to dry up a while. :hmm

buying wood is super pricy, so i am trying ti re-use as much lumber as possible. these planks had nails in them so i took the angle grinder to the nails and that made quick work of them. In the back ground you can see the fence i have been making. the termites got to these 2x4s so i oiled them up real good i mean real good let it soak in and then oiled again. there was no termites but the wood was tunneled in, so i had to beef it up a bit more with some shorter scraps, these were 8 foot so i really just needed the length. no nee to be super sturdy i will make up for that with other parts. i oiled the planks on one side so when i put them on the side i cant get to is all done.

i got to figure out a faster way to do the fence because on the left you can see i started to stain it but its a long tedious process :x

here is looking the other way 180° from the picture above you can see the fence is just thrashed and falling down....thats not good because we have a dog.

for fast staining I have a 2 gallon sprayer rig that I use for poison spraying dan-d-lions. It was around $7. I use it for spraying the stain. Only problem is that sometimes the stain screws up the 'workings' of the sprayer, O rings etc. so I try to get all set up to do all my stain spraying in one day.

is it one of those pump up and squirt things? i thought about buying one and using diesel fuel to thin down my oil solution. Because i am liking the dark color of the used oil, it matches the color of all the other things in the yard. the smell goes away after like a day, and its clean to touch after 2 or so days.

Yeah, pump it up and squirt....has two settings on the end of the squirter, straight flow or fan shaped flow. Fan shape works good.--How far you hold it away from the wood determines the width of the spray....
