Cockroaches suck... my girlfriend's parents had them bad once. They had to get the whole house fumigated. My house had river rats before I got there. I made sure that I got rid of the neighbors bird feeder that was feeding them, and I put out traps; haven't seen 'em since. You're doing it plenty right! I used to flip houses with a contractor, and let me tell you, I've done (and seen) way worse patch jobs before! I'd treat any old spongy wood for rot and mold before I sealed up the wall with fresh drywall. Looks like you have textured walls to begin with, so you can patch the drywall in there anyhow; just as long as it's sturdy! As a side note, in my never-ending efforts to be cheap, I am testing a new dial up service that offers an accelerator for only $8 a month, to see how it works. It is not only faster, but all of your pictures are normal-sized on this ancient version of Firefox (version 2). Much better to read. What are we paying Comcast for?! ![]() Also, a suggestion: They sell the purple moisture-resistant drywall that should be safe for the floor level up against the cement slab for extra protection!

i wanted to possibly fix up the pipes, run them a bit neater. i also wanted to put the wash spigot in one of those dedicated "boxes" more to be tidy. now that your internet is faster i can post higher res pictures! just kidding ill keep it smaller for you. now getting rid of the mold, doing bleach spray and scrubbing a good way to fight it? or should i get some killz paint in there. yea idmetro its amazing what can happen to a thing thats pretty small and only has a short lifespan. how about something 20 times the size of a metro. lets see what we can "fix" little tape some bubble gum and vola, your roof no longer leaks

I've heard of people using bleach, but I don't know how well it works. They sell lots of mold killing spray-on stuff at hardware stores. Don't know if Kilz sells it, but Zinsser has a mold killing primer. Not sure if it's oil or latex. I wouldn't recommend the tape roof fix. I've tried it, several times. It only lasts so long... Just glop a dollop of tar in there! BTW, thanks for the smaller pics! The accelerator "fixes" it by downloading really -ty versions of the pictures to make it load quick. I try to turn it up to the middle so everything isn't crap! You can right-click certain ones and view the original quality.

![]() so the bathroom where all the junk was the old toilet and cast iron tub is the master bath. this bathroom is getting a glass block wall, pebble floor in the shower and subway tiles. the shower will be moved to 7' so I can actually take a shower with out stooping to get my hair washed. we have the new toilet and the tile was ordered today. ![]() here is the other room where the water heater was. the heater sat just in front of that wash machine, the tankless cleared up a ton of space as you can see. I had to cut the wall all up to get that cast iron tub out, I tried to hammer it, I tried to grinder it I tried to bend it and nothing would do what I wanted. my idea was to cut it in half or bust it up or fold the sides in.... that this is way way strong. so any way I cut the wall to slide the tub IN the other room pivot it up to the celling and dolly it out that way. under the tub was about 10 buckets of dirt, evidence of termites was in the wood and dirt under the tub so now that the dirt is out of the house I hope that helps with pest intrusion. the walls as you can see have NO insulation so I need to figure out how to insulate them with out ripping up more walls ![]() here we see the front of the house I have turned into a trash dump, mounds and mounds of tile sheet rock wood scraps and other building crap. the trash can only holds so much and I still have around 1000 feet of tile to rip up... well time for bed then work then back to this Edited by ZXTjato, Sep 18 2015, 01:28 AM.

We have two shower heads, each controlled by its own controller. One at the height for the wife and one at the height for me. Easy to do and minimum cost when you are at the stage you are in. |

![]() here is the gate fully finished, other than some wood sealant. stain paint etc. ![]() I had some help doing the gate my moms husband helped me and I changed his oil for him so it was a win win. use one of those slider latch things with a hole drilled into the pipe I mounted up so this way the dog wont push the gate open ![]() also when picking hardware decided on decorative vs galvanized boring the gate was a pre built style so david added the cross beams to help beef it up a bit and he mounted up all the hinges real nice. think I learned something ![]() Edited by ZXTjato, Sep 20 2015, 07:27 PM.

![]() so I was able to get the last stump out of the ground and be able to park both cars on the side of the house. Where I dug the stump out of the ground the dirt was soft where I filled it in and the GT wheel kinda got stuck so I was not able to push it by hand. When I backed the Honda in I gave it a little bump bump bump till it rolled out of the soft dirt, well back on hard ground it rolled back and crashed into the palm tree it was not going all that fast but it sure did shake the tree ![]() ![]() sarah picked and ordered all the tile thin set and shower stuff for the house, it was so nice to not have to load and unload by hand homedepot had it dropped off and a fork lift just set it down easy right where I wanted it boom

![]() so this tool was at home depo and it was hiding in the back of the pile of tools, it was used beat up and just not in good shape. Since I have a grinder and I can fix the tip of this tool I asked about a discount on this. We got 20% off plus the military and that's 10% originally tool was 29.99 ![]() while I had the grinder out I took the metal and shaped it up on my crow bar, I been using this bar to bang under the tile break the tile and rip it up.The metal had started to get a wrinkle in it from being hit so much so I shaved it off down to the end of the crack. ![]() I finished ripping up the front room and I saved around 40 tiles that came up in one entire tile, I plan on using these full tiles around the hot tub as extra walk path or whatever. ![]() while I was inside finishing the tile I was nearly done I had my headphones in because tile is loud and banging of stuff, so I struck the crow bar and was going up for the next swing when the head of this hammer went flying across the room bouncing off the wall a few screws in it to help hold it down ![]() and lastly I picked up my new tires today on the rims gary gave me. these are his old 14s he painted for the green machine. some new rubber here givin the geo some love think the tires were just under 300 bucks but I like the grip of the wider tires. first free way entrance was a hard 90 degree right hand sweeper into its own lane so it was game on 45 mph down shift then foot to floor for an exit sweeeeeet grip on wider tires

Wow... I don't know how you got those screws into the Hammer's handle! I've tried it before, even with an impact driver, to no success. |

![]() so the living room is clean the thin set is removed to the point new tile can be installed lots and lots of chisel work. my moms husband david came over with the truck to take the trailer to the dump, its a harbor freight 8x4 trailer and I didn't want to load it up to much but the dump bein fairly close and surface streets easy and slow I loaded it up pretty good. I put all 3 of the large stumps I took out, the walls from the bathroom and the living room tile, probably 800 feet of tile. We have been to this land fill many times with many types of large dump items but this time was different we get up on the scale and the lady said we weighed to much, how can that be its not like we have THAT much stuff. The truck trailer and payload was 7860 pounds, the charge for being over weight was $28 normally its just 8 to go to the dump. I cant figure out why they care what kind of vehicle comes to the dump the truck alone is 6000 pounds. so any way after waiting in the long line we were able to unload all the crap that took just a few mins because I had it all boxed up now we had to go sit back in line to get the drivers license back for bein over weight. how stupid to make the customer wait in line all over again, any way the load was 1300 pounds so I don't understand the extra charge for the weight.![]() here is the bathroom I was able to get all the tile up, they uses so much thin set I couldn't rip it tile by tile but had to chisel my way along inch by inch. why was so much thin set used? to cover that nasty peel and stick flooring garbage. ![]() I had to move the bathroom sink to get under it, while I was trying to turn off the water the stupid shut off valve snapped in my hand and started to spray all over the place so I had to run outside really fast and turn off the house water. I replaced them with ball valve for easy turn off in the future. ![]() here is the master bath, I got around to fixing the wood that was damaged from the dirt, termites and dryrot. I had a new 2x4 I cut and fit on the floor and then used a pallet to brace the studs in the wall. pallet wood is incredibly hard to get screws into, I even pre drilled the holes and what a work out that was getting the screws into them, like the pallet was a hard wood or something. so any way that's all fixed nice and the tile guy starts Monday. Just keep the linoleum thats left. Looks good as new! ![]() Seriously though, you're supposed to put down concrete board, then thinset and tile. Thinset over linoleum? That's so back-asswards... We went to re-do a house once that had all of the 10 year old tile floors cracking and poping up. Someone put thinset/tile right over top of the plywood subfloor... Hope you plan on laying some concrete board!

yea I wont need to put down any cement board because this house is on one giant slab of cement already. to be honest I'm not really sure how the house mounts to the cement, I haven't seen any large bolts or anchors securing the house to it. who knows my house may go all Oz and fly away in a dust storm
