4x6 aftermarket headlights; Convert your h4666 headlights to h4 bulbs

Just did some searching online for aftremarket headlights and found many universal 4x6 size that run an h4 bulb also did a search on h4666 to h4 conversion and there is the adapters for the wiring. If you do this you can run brighter h4 bulbs for better vision. Also the adapter looks really simple I bet you could just snip the wires and crimp your own connectors on as long as you get them in the right place.

and here is a link for the wiring harness

Amazon Link

Edit this harness is decent quality 16 guage wire I think the doorman brand I bought at autozone was 18 guage not sure if thats a big deal or not. Doormans have a rubber cover these ones its just plastic. Also these come directly from china so a week and a half for delivery minimum

I believe these are the best headlights you can buy*, and the only thing keeping me from doing so is...well I'm lazy.

the hella brand ones say only legal for on road use in Canada

the ones i ordered said it was designed for left hand drive cars but turns out when they arrived at my house they said off road use only on the box and nothing about left hand. they also claimed a left and a right as a pair but both were identical :ermm: :deal

Just as a quick note, if the bulb draws more amps than the factory bulbs did, you will burn those places we have a problem burning faster.

I recommend buying the headlights that coche blanco recommended they are higher quality. Got mine in the mail made in India not bad quality but not great either.
Going on mouse's recommendation on lower draw bulbs and bought led's. pics when they come.
I found some pretty nice doorman brand 9003 headlight plugs at Autozone for 10$ and got some fancy gold plated butt connectors😀
And a thanks to geopanda for his post of the the wiring diagram saved me the trouble of testing with a meter

well the new led bulbs are in and they are bright. got these on amazon for 100$ only 30 watt bulb draw and their own mini cooling fan controlled by a mini circuit board. advertising shows a pic off the fan running with the whole unit submerged underwater pretty cool.
Edit- these bulbs shine into oncoming traffic and if you aim them down to avoid it they are useless. Led no good for headlights yet needs more even spread. Halogens are better don't waste your money if you need to spend it get a 200$ pair of 4x6 led headlights

so this is what you get when you put a really nice bulb in a housing from india
This is the best I could get the low beams aimed even tried the driver side upside down and it made no difference
I basically have them pointed as crosseyed as they will go and still seem too have some dark spots in the middle also have them pointed almost all the way down
Posted Image
here is the high beam hard to tell the difference. Probably would be bigger difference if they were not pointed down so much

I'll just have to see how annoyed the other drives get I guess. If you can't beat em join em. I'm hoping that they make me more visible for safety at night and hoping the slow pokes in the fast lane might actually move over.
Needless to say the headlight fund is all dried up at the moment but I did find some other style lights I think may work better

something like these at jegs

How 'narrow' is the beam vs. stock?

It seems like the beam is crazy wide compared too stock, and I believe most of it is the India housings. They were super wide before I made them cross eyed too eliminate some of the dark spots in front of the car, and they just seemed too wide
But still really didn't shrink the width that much aimed that way

would be good too spot deer and such in ditches next too the road that way but I was worried they would aggravate 3 or 4 lanes of traffic if it was bumper too bumper on the freeway

These led's are sposed to be super focused compared too other aftermarket led bulbs.
Maybe the dark spots are from the bulb cover thingy inside the headlight housing they are crudly placed in there with some tabs on the outside simply bent over holding them going too try too take them out tommorow
It was funny I saw my dads metro yesterday and he had the exact same housings what a coincidence.

I just bought a single 9003 (H4) bulb to test. This is 'low' on both lamps. The one with the flat top is the Hella I linked earlier. This is just a 'fwiw' post, and the pictures make the sealed beam look better than it is.
