Then take off a door panel and pull the speaker out. You can also use a home stereo speaker for testing as well, just need to use a little wire to reach. Does the display act like it is reading the usb and playing a song?

Yes it shows the equalizer moving.

Then it's either a fried output on the stereo or an issue with the wiring or speakers. Find a speaker to test with and go from there.

I will try, but for now I don't have any speakers and it would be too much trouble to take out the speakers from the car.

Ask a friend. I have at least 5 and probably 8 or 9 auto speakers I can use to test with, and that's not even counting the several bookshelf speakers I could use as well.

Sure, turn the volume way down, put on a set of headphones, carefully touch the wires to the segments at the end and the top of the plug. If you can get sound through the headphones the radio is likely fine. I am not responsible for blowing out your headphones or your ears. Your best bet is to have someone with experience either help you install it, or pay someone to do it.

Same static on all 4 pairs of wires would imply that the radio is damaged and not outputting any sound, unless that is all it has to output. It sounds like the radio is reading music off of the USB but not actually putting it out to the speakers. If switching to radio or AUX doesn't change the static then it is pretty likely that the stereo is bad or was damaged by a short. If it's new and you purchased it from WalMart or a similar store you should be able to exchange it.

I am reasonably certain, as least as much as I can be without being able to physically check the radio myself, that the radio itself is broken. If you haven't done so, you should check the troubleshooting in the installation manual.

Quick search online revealed no manual, but there were a lot of really bad reviews indicating all kinds of issues with this unit and it has been discontinued by the manufacturer.

Sorry I didn't quite understand that.

I searched for a manual and didn't find one. What I did find is a whole bunch of people talking about issues with that particular radio. I also found that the manufacturer has stopped making the radio.
