As some of you know, I recently acquired a 2001 Swift. I have had a 1993 4dr hatch that I bought with the idea of resale. It is It has many cosmetic problems and before I could get a good start on it, I got sick, had heart failure, blah, blah ,blah. I've wanted a 4dr Daily Driver since I sold my first one. ----------SO---------- I am going to take the brakes and whatever else I can from the Swift and put into the 4dr. Some of the Swift will end up in my 99. If you want any swift parts let me know. I have already removed the fuel pump to fix my 99. Rear brakes are on the 4dr. I gotta go to work now, so I'll add pics tomorrow. |

pictures These are the pics I've taken so far. A few teasers; ![]() Inside the fender well. To show the lack of rust. ![]() Frame horn. ![]() Door frame ![]() Right side rear suspension. Complete with lowering springs. Yes, a rear sway bar. I haven't quite figured out the mounting. I'll let you know what I come up with. Now to do the left. ![]() The 2001 Swift I.m taking parts from to complete the 4door. I ordered new wheel bearings and cylinders for the rear. I do not want to go back in here for a looong time. ![]() My test of the different under coating I have in the shop right now. I need to decide which to use to coat the bottom of the car. For durability/ease of use/etc. I may go with a bed liner also. I do not have any here, so, I'll have to get some and see how it works. Any suggestions? I'll take all the help I can get. |

well T3 and i have had great luck with rustolium truck bead liner. ONLY issue i had with it is that it sun fades after a year out here. but if your using it for your lower bits out of the sun it would probably be fantastic. i did however on my blue car use real car body under coating, prepped with wire wheel in a drill air hosed then wiped down acetone. |

All I accomplished today was to clean and paint the left side rear suspension parts. FWIW; I use Rustoleum Rust Reformer Primer followed by Rustoleum Epoxy Enamel Paint. The rust reformer is to take care of the rust I couldn't remove and I like the epoxy paint for it's durability. It is the same style of paint used to refinish appliances. |

I was going to use the Swift rear suspension parts on the 4door (I gotta find her a name). The 2001 control arm is 3/4 inch longer than the 1993. -----but----- the knuckle also is set out about the same. I cannot find specs for the track on the 2001. I can find specs for the track on the 1993. Did Suzuki pull the mounts closer to the center in order to give a longer swing and perhaps a smoother ride? or is the track on the 2001 wider than the 1993. Should I use the suspension parts and have the rear wheel protrude (slightly) from their oem position? will I be able to set the alignment? I knew the 2001 front lower control arm is longer. -----but----- the frame horns are the same distance apart. Is the track on the front of the 2001 wider? How could it not be? Should I use all the suspension from the 2001 on the 1993? questions, questions, questions |

Wheel track increased in 95. Front track increased from 53.7" to 54.5". Rear track increased from 52.8" to 53.5". http://www.automobile-catalog.com/auta_details1.php |

Sure would like the right side frame horn to repair my 2000 Metro. I'm guessing it's the same. Know anybody that could do that for me?

![]() We-e-e-e-ell, since I already took pieces off to use the pump in my '99. your pieces can come off next. I'll be cutting the radiator supports soon to send to reddevilhs17. What I'm hearing is; If I use the '01 suspension I'll have a wider stance than OEM, but should be the same stance as the other Gen3 cars. After the meet with JoeJoe tomorrow, I'll get back to her. Take pics of the OEM look, then swap parts & take pics of the widened look. |

I don't think you'll be able to get it aligned. |

That's possible Woodie, I will talk to the alignment guy I use and ask what his input is. I can align it here, I just don't want to. |

I took pics of the 4dr with the OEM suspension on it, then swapped the Swift suspension and looked at her close & hard. My wife came to give her opinion also, we think she looks better with the slightly wider stance. Maybe she'll ride better as well. |

?Question/Query/Quiz? Which undercoat or bed liner do you like & why. I've tested 3 so far. 2 under coat - 1 bed liner. These are cans I've had for an unknown period of time. My results may be skewed because of this. I'm asking for your opinions. My results, these are all spray on, rattle can paint, 3M Undercoating - Good cover, thick / nice & even color / nozzle plugged after a few seconds. 2nd can was the same way. I cleaned the nozzles and retried = same result. I tossed the cans. Age may be a factor. Rustoleum Undercoat - Good cover, thinner than 3M / even color but looks more gray than black / nozzle never clogged. Dupli-Color Bed Armour - Takes at least 3 coats for good cover. I knew this. I bought this last year to use on the rockers of Bill's car. I believe they did this on purpose. It goes on in bubbles and gives a very rough, pebbly feel to the end product. / good color, even color, most black looking / never clogged. Well, those are my observations. Now please give me yours. S. |

I finished the rear suspension yesterday. I used the suspension parts from the Swift, & the HR Lowering springs I have. Pulling the parts from the donor made it easy to clean, prime & paint them. They look out of place under the car. I'll get some pics tomorrow. (still looking for a name)(wife suggested "SLO LAN")(NEDNARB? - my grandsons name backward)(XXSLOW or XX SLO or SLOWXX or SLO XX) throw your ideas into the ring. |
