Hey folks, First of all, I have read through all of mullet's headlight post ![]() Low, high, and DRL all went out at the same time. The brights work with pull-to-pass. I checked all the connectors in the driver's footwell, and nothing looks burnt. I bench tested the relay, and it works. The relay clicks when I turn on the headlight switch, so I think the headlight switch works. How likely is it that a dimmer switch would fail in a way that would kill both high and low at the same time? If the wiring on the 99 is the same as what mullet posted, then a bad dimmer shouldn't kill the DRL, right? Also, a bad DRL module shouldn't kill the high beams, correct? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the '99? All the colors are different than what mullet posted. Factory would be great...been burned many times by inaccurate Chilton/Haynes diagrams. Any likely culprits? Thanks! Tom |

I don't think so because I believe the brake switch is just tied into the DRL's- the headlights should come on when the switch is in the on position even with the parking brake handle applied |

The lights on my 2000 metro did same thing. Happened a few times when pulling out from parking space, then completely quit about half a mile up the road. I played with e brake a few times and they came back on (maybe coincidence?). Unhooked drl module next day and haven't had problems since. I didn't like lights on all the time anyways. |
