Rolling Restoration; My attempt to restore a free car to nice condition while working in it daily.

I've had my car for a little over two months at this point and have done nothing to improve it, just kept it running as it spits out a quart of oil a week. Due to past vehicle difficulties in conjunction with a job where it's very important, I just didn't have the psychological capacity to work on it until I thought of it as a project. Working on it so I could get to work meant that it was a part of my job and I wasn't getting paid for that. Now I can treat it like a hobby/challenge and I'm mentally up for it. We'll see if I'm technically up for it. Here are some starting pictures.

Yesterday, I added three quarts of oil :die replaced a vacuum hose, tightened down the head gasket cover, and gave the engine compartment a preliminary cleaning.

Next step is replacing all the fluids and evaluating if anything has to be done during the coming winter. I hope to do that at once, but I may have to go piece by piece.

3 quarts would be basically empty.

That was pretty much my thought. After realizing how quickly it was leaking, I just started putting in a quart a week without checking. Apparently the loss was slightly higher and I lost the additional two quarts with out realizing it over the past six weeks.

I've got them all up there, they just don't post as images for some reason. Just says 'Posted Image'. But if you right click that and select 'View Image' it will take you to the picture alone from my Google Photos account.

Only if you sign in with a Google account, and I'm not sure if they'd work for accounts other then your own to boot. Does google not have a "public" link you can use to attach photos?

Edit: Yeah, no...even signed in, the links don't work.

I thought that I had the album open for public viewing. I'll look into it, or get a photobucket account if I can't make it work.

Fixed.

Just threw in some Seafoam and replaced another vacuum line (I'm just sort of randomly finding them split). Tomorrow I drain all fluids and replace (with some stop leak in the oil). Lost about a third of a quart since last post.
