Here is my first Geo Metro, its a 1997 with a 1.0l 3 cylinder under the hood. Bought it off a co worker for $200. The car suffered from a oil leak which caused the pistons and head to be severely damaged. He had the whole bottom end worked on and sold it as pictured. I have the new head to be put back on along with the gaskets and everything assembled back with new parts where needed.

Welcome to the forum, DJ! It looks like you are going to have yourself a very nice car there when you get done correcting the stupidity of the PO. Isn't it a shame what some people will do to a nice piece of machinery just because of lazy inattention.... :shake Have you checked out the frame horns for any rust? From the looks of the paint, that car spent most of its life in a hot, sunny climate.

As long as you are doing your own wrenching, you would do well to get yourself a Genuine Factory Service Manual (FSM) to learn all the little known details and CORRECT information on this car. Some of the Haynes and other manuals have been known to have incorrect stuff in them.... Just sayin'. B-)

Yes, I bought the FSM on eBay for cheap. I know that book will be a great investment. I have checked the frame horns and they are rust free. For the most part, the engine bay and all inside paint is in ok condition. It is a bit faded but still has the clear coat. I am surprised this car has no rust and body is 95% solid, it has minor dents in the back hatch door.
