My car was stripped. Right down the road from me. All my subs and amps gone. My 2 pairs of oakley. 3 phones that were in the glove box. All of my tools. All of my phone accessories. My dash cam. My radar detector. My pocket knifes. Both my ipod and mp3 players. All my change and money. And a bunch of other shit too. They cut all the cables. My guess is they used a jiggle key and drove it down the road to their car and stripped it there. I got a call from a police phone number (private) and the officer said she was next to my car. I drove the 5 blocks away to go see it. It was parked kind of blocking driveways. The window was down and they had smudged up the window trying to wipe it to see where they were driving. They ripped my dome light down. The wipers were stuck in the upright position. With the wipers on full speed. The car was left in second gear with the parking brake on. No broken windows. No hacked up ignition. Feels a little stiff but not screw driver'd up. I just parked it and pulled the battery cables off the battery. Locked it up in my front lawn in front of my house. Also loaded my gun. One my dogs bark I'm going guns a blazing. |

If my brother got any money on the go fund me account I'm gonna either try to refund it all or use it to fix my dome light and pit an alarm in the car. |

Man, that sucks! I hope they can track them down. At least you have the car back, and they didn't beat on it too much. |

Thanks guys. It's hard for me to admit that I should have cleaned out the car and left nothing inside. Plus put full coverage on it |

theft, its invasion of privacy. I had a house broken into and its the worst feeling. I kinda got paranoid over it and any one looking at me funny or driving by my place just any little thing sent me into fight mode. all we had stolen was a computer, change, kitchen knife, and some stupid random junk. |

When caught in a stolen car by police, most car thieves will just say, "Oh, I borrowed this car from my buddy, Bob. What do you mean it's stolen?? I had no idea, officer!" Of course, there is no Bob, they didn't borrow it from anyone, and they stole it themselves. But it becomes nearly impossible to charge them with GTA, so the best the authorities can hope for is Possession of Stolen Property. Much less serious charge. I read somewhere that in most states you have to steal something like 12 cars before you will do a day in prison. These guys are scumbags, but they ain't all dumb... |

You don't need full coverage if you are just worried about theft. "Comprehensive" coverage protects you against that, and it is only a couple bucks a month. When I was using my Metro for pizza delivery, I deliberately kept it spartan. Put in a stereo I didn't care about, no speakers, subs, etc. Nothing that they'd even break in to steal, much less take the whole car for. When I was younger, I had a Mercury Lynx XR3 (think Escort GT). I put a great stereo and speakers in it, but used the old stereo to fake thieves out. I took the entire double-DIN faceplate off of the old stereo...it was the stock cassette player...and glued all of the buttons and switches into it from the back. I even cut a cassette tape in half and glued it into the cassette slot. Then, when I parked the car, I would stick the old faceplate over the new stereo with velcro. At a glance, it was absolutely indistinguishable from the stock stereo. It even appeared to have a cassette hanging out of it! When I drove the car, I popped it off. My shit was NEVER stolen.
