For photoshop wannabies, try out Gimp! It is free and 'similar'.

OP, very neat. I do mess around in photoshop a lot.

I am the one on the left.

I do some photoshop- as a hobbyist- is that even a word?
for example- my kid needed a photo for a bio in a playbill.
she has changed her hair quite a bit since her last headshot.
Posted Image this is a photo taken just two weeks ago- and our schedule is crazy.
so... thanks photoshop

but wait- that's snow in the background- and it won't shrink well in a black and white photo thats about an inch and half square.
so...thanks photoshop!

then- the editor of the playbill asks for a higher resolution photo...
hmm- no amount of photoshop will help there.
but wait- her friend snapped this pic Just this Friday, after a long day at school.

this'll do. Edited out the snow flakes- and lightened area under eye where her make-up had been rubbed off her eyes and onto her skin- it looked like she had bruising under eyes- or black eyes-so I worked up the color from her cheeks to blend in the eye zone.
