How was the drive? Snow, rain, gloom, dark of night? Discover any interesting feed joints along the way? Kansas City 5 lb steak? I know, I know, no time for fancy eats. Just burgers to go.

Glad you got something good. Hopefully it's rust free. Waiting for the updates or a new project thread :popcorn

It is absolutely rust free. :thumb
I wanted to take a few pictures when I got home, but it was dark when I got here, so the pictures will have to wait until tomorrow if I can get home before dark.

Here's a little info on the car to hold everyone over. :D

The car was purchased in North Carolina new in 94, and the owner that I bought it from purchased it in 2008 from NC with a rebuilt motor for $6000, I know, that sounded crazy to me too!! :O
The motor was replaced at 180,000, and the car currently has 265,000 miles on it.
It's by far not perfect, the bezel is broke, knobs are missing, dome light is missing, and a lot of little things that won't take very long to fix. There are a couple of big things that need to be fixed. I drove it home 25 miles after we unloaded it from the tow dolly. (Thanks Turbogts22) The tranny will need to be changed asap, as the input shaft is pretty loud. Lucky for me, I have a freshly rebuilt 3.79 from a fellow forum member. :rocker
I was very happy with the compression test of 200 on all 3 cylinders. The guy that I bought it from handed me a stack of receipts, so I was very pleased to find out he took really good care of it. He even had the NC inspection sheet from the last time is was done in 2008. Very detailed guy on the phone when I talked to him, which is why I decided to make the long haul to get it.
I will update other things as I find them.
I hope everyone enjoys the threads of my Metro adventures, because I sure like making them! :cheers

Oh I forgot to mention, it's RUST FREE!!!!! :bacondance :bacondance :bacondance :bacondance

Air bags started in 95, with the new, larger, body style.

Except for the ones behind the wheel and that varies - application specific...

I stand corrected. I was sure that the body style shown did not have them and it was plain to see the thread wasn't about any other style. I was incorrect with my blanket statement of bags not starting until 95. My bad. 20 lashes with the wet noodle for me, self applied. :lol
