http://m.ebay.com/itm/ECLIPSE-EA1412-4-CHANNEL-POWER-AMPLIFIER-NEW-AMP-NO-RETAIL-BOX-/331455461244?nav=SEARCH I figured a lot of you would really like a cheap micro amp thar can be mounted under the dash and with low power consumption that can be powered off the fuse panel. I might buy one or two |

this the same micro discrete amp some one did an entire write up on? if I remember it comes from a jeep grand Cherokee. Some one around here did a full HOW TO thing on it, I just don't remember where it was. but yea those hidden things would be cool, I have wanted to get a good amp mounted on rubber isolators and cooling to it under the dash for a long time because there is so much wasted space under there :/ |

Cool stuff! If I had and older Metro with a single DIN radio I would be all over that, but I just re-did the factory radio with an auxiliary port. |

I snagged one. Thanks for the heads up. I'm not a "My amp blows my hair around when my speakers hit" kinda guy. (Not enough hair left to so that anyways.) This should be a nice addition, to add just a little umph to the system. $18.24 delivered. Can't beat that.

there's no specs given at all for these amps. if they have the little monolithic integrated audio amps in them they may only put out 7 to 14 watts. a mid-range head unit will play louder than that off it's speaker connections. ![]() they are cheap enough, though, at that price. |

7 amps max input at 12 volts = 84 watts if 100 percent efficient more than likely 40/50 percent efficient so about 10 watts per channel on a good day. cheap way to power up a head unit with no internal amp though. |

Mitsubishi Galants came with an amp behind the dash as well. I wonder if I can find one at the local yard. Thanks for the idea! |

[shameless plug] I wonder who that was? ![]() Nice to know somebody reads the crap I put up! Link--->$25 Factory Amp Upgrade?; NO modification to your Metro Needed! [\shameless plug] This is a pretty smoking deal and I think it's smaller than the Jeep unit! Thanks for the link. ![]() Eclipse units are solid. I have an old head unit in the garage I used for a number of years. The reason for these amps is that the head units had NO amplifier built in. If you wanted to use an Eclipse head unit, you HAD to add some type of amp. Inside the head unit you had complete control of the output, but with the onboard equalizer and the CD player, even part of the FM tuner had to be located outside of the head unit. Worked great, I just pulled it because I wanted to go with a more factory look. I don't have one of these amps, but I bet the same is true as with the Jeep amp. Don't expect earth-shattering performance, but it should clean up the sound a good bit. |

Good for some one if they got 2 of them and had all 8 of the factory speaker locations filled with decent speakers. I am thinking of it. |

Richard, I STILL have those 2 micro Alpine amps I bought from you years back just sitting around. This reminded me that I had them, lol. I'm kinda suspicious about this amp on ebay because when you do a bit of research on them, they are supposedly "rare" and hard to come by, yet this guy has 85+ brand new ones. Kinda suspicious if you ask me. Kyle |

I did the Jeep amp, only it was a 6 channel. Melanie did the wire harness. It works great just as long as you do 6 speakers. It's very crisp and alot louder. |
