steering wheel adapter for 2000 chevy metro

so im not really seeing any adapters for a 2000 chevy metro steering wheel adapter.
only ones i see are for the 1989 to 1994

the reason that you won't find an adapter for a 2000 model is that they came equipped with a steering wheel mounted airbag.

you can use the adapter you listed, the shaft spline is the same, but you have to disable the supplemental inflatable restraint system and pull the sir system's clock spring to use an aftermarket steering wheel.

also, you have to use a minimum of a 2" spacer between the hub adapter and the wheel. i use 3" spacers to give my big meat hooks enough room to clear the stalks on the combination switch. ;)

After you do this mod. How does the blinkers turn off. If you turn on the blinker and turn the steering wheel are you going to have to turn it off manually? I had to come up with a mod to the two pins on the back of my gti steering wheel, so it would work on my 93. How did you do it T3, with a a vert or 95+ steering wheel with the air bag? :thumb

i think this one will work also has the pin holes for the turn signals.not too worried about the srs system if you get in a wreck in your metro and those have to go off your already up shit creek
