Grr

no the prius with a fuel concious driver nets 55-60mpg. 50mpg without even trying hard. 40mpg delivering pizza beating the hell out of it.

while I won't own one THEY DO deliver as advertised.

84mpg for the elio should be easy. shit if my 94 metro can HOLD 65mpg no problem and can touch 71mpg

a much lighter MUCH more aero "elio" would be a sad disappointment if it had any trouble netting 80+mpg highway.

whether we will ever see one for sale? I doubt it.

Or just take a stock Metro, cut a third of its width out and weld it back together, and call it a Bogetro!! That's what my buddy did with an old, rusted out 90 Metro, and it averages 60 mpg. Of course, this one is a 4-wheeler but the rear wheels are so close together it feels like a 3-wheeler.
This is amazing. :rocker

I've lost respect for some YouTuber's after their 'review' of the Elio. You can't say stuff like, "Gets 84 MPG" followed by, "This prototype uses a less efficient Geo Metro motor" and, "We can't take it above 25 mph". They haven't made a prototype with their motor in it, from what I have seen. I just want some actual proof that this thing is going to be in production. This isn't taking into consideration all the issues with it being a motorcycle or anything like that.

I have a co-worker, older man, who put $1000 down on an Elio. I just shook my head and got a little sad. He saw the ad in a magazine and immediately put down the money.

Let's pretend this thing comes out and it is the next Tesla, but way cheaper of course. If there is a line, I can wait. I'll definitely pick one up. But buying something before a solid prototype with EPA numbers even exists is ridiculous.
This guy did a review of the Elio prototype and called the Geo Metro prototype engine "crummy." How can a Geo Metro 3 cylinder 1.0 liter engine, pulling a reduced weight 1200 pound Elio at 55 horsepower, provide anything other than excellent power?? Was he expecting a V-8 engine? It would tear the Elio apart!!

:news Well, ya found one of the guys I was talking about. There is another young fella on YouTube who gave a similar review.

I have posted it a dozen times, but there is a guy on one of the Honda forums I frequent who did aero mods to a VX (iirc) and got something like 70 mpg. And that's a full size civic. I got to imagine with a small front end and a smaller friction patch, it would do even better.
