Our beloved Metros. Their skin is thin. But we love them. They are getting up there in years, but we love them. And for most they battle with "cancer" rust. We see it bubble up from hidden places. The frames, the floors, the trunk, and strut mounts. We take them to the mechanic for cancer surgery and it pops up somewhere else. They cut and patch, and use the best rust liquid treatments to prevent it from coming back. And sometimes all that works. And sometimes the rust just keeps getting bigger and keeps popping up in other areas. Sometimes, there is no more a mechanic can do but let the car go to the eternal shredder. This has been the same with my mother. Her 5 year fight to keep ahead of her "rust" cancer through many trips to the "mechanic" surgeons and to the oncologists "liquid" chemo treatments have ended on Saturday with her young 67 year old body (22.3 in Metro years) too far gone for repair. Eternally resting with our Creator God in Heaven. You see, to me this is fitting, because just months ago she bought me my last Metro, and intend to enjoy it as much as I can. Thinking of her as I drive.

Wow, so sorry to hear! ![]() Hope things get better. Be sure to take care of that Metro, and rust-proof the underside and frame horns! |
