My geo has 2.5 times the milage of the wife's van. Geo gets 3 times the mpg. I have driven the geo full of tools to diagnose and repair the van to many times. The geo has never broken down off my driveway, it has developed problems but always made it home for repairs. The geo has no problems on icy streets with bald summer tires Geo has never slid off the road. Geo is fun to drive. It's easier to load and buckle 3 kids through the rear hatch than crawling through the van. ........ Geo is under powered but set up for high mpg not acceleration. Geo doesn't like deeper snow with bald tires. Geo is louder than van. Van is fast with the optional larger engine. Van is quite Van seats 7. Van can drive in deep snow. ................. For list of cons, see metro pro list. Why wouldn't I drive the geo? |

I've switched back to my Dodge Ram now that gas is under $1.75 a gal around here. It's safer and has more creature comforts than the Geo. The vert is resting comfortably in the garage, a chance to get to a few things, brakes, bearings and maybe struts without being rushed. But yeah...... good point, gas prices are the reason. |

I purchased mine to be my commute vehicle. Pretty much every day to work. Nothing has changed other than I spend even less on gas. |

Even if gas was $1.00 I'd likely still be driving it (them). Paid $1.45 the other day and it's back up to $1.59 in a lot of places. I did park it during the snow last week and drove my gas rag 4x4 pickup. It's already rusted underneath, so no big deal. I did wash it today tho. |

1000 miles per week, my area $1.78 for gas, mini truck is 25 mpg, geo about 45mpg(hilly area) so I can spend $71.2 or only $39.55. Lets see, yes I will keep about $32 extra a week into my pocket or about $120 per month. |

Gas was $1.39/gal today at a local Casey's. However, I drive my metro everyday because I love the fact I can fill it up for under ten bucks now. Too bad when the Saudis begin to drive the price of oil up the price of gas will skyrocket too. I fear that by the end of the year gas will be over $4/gal. Hope I'm wrong, but just in case I'll keep my metro. Hate to think of how much it would cost to full up a full sized SUV when the gas price is over $4/gal. Ouch!! |

I haven't forgot when it cost $30 to fill my metro. Drive mine everyday for the 33 mpg( it is a auto) and to keep the miles down on my Ram. It is nice to put $20 in my truck and see the needle move though. I've had the Ram for 6 years and only put 53000 miles on it. |
