I haven't forgot when it cost $30 to fill my metro. Drive mine everyday for the 33 mpg( it is a auto) and to keep the miles down on my Ram. It is nice to put $20 in my truck and see the needle move though. I've had the Ram for 6 years and only put 53000 miles on it.
I bought my first metro in 2007 or 2006.
Gas just hit 4.30$
A few weeks later it hit 4.50$

Unless I am towing or hauling something too big for a Metro, all I drive are Metros. Gas price does not make any difference, and electricity price does not matter for the electric ones.

Slightly off-topic, but I love filling my Mirage up for $14 instead of $19. I'd love to be able to fill it up for $8 like I did my old XFi back in the day.

Cheap gas rules, and the less I spend on gas the better.

My Xfi gets twice the mileage my truck gets. So even if gas gets down to $1 I'm still saving 50% over driving the truck. I'm just glad the prices are way down while the Metro is temporarily engine-less!

Hasn't made any difference to me, yet...

but, I notice that people don't sell 'em when gas is high, and they pop up like weeds on CL and such each time gas prices go down for a while.

Seems like I see more Geos than ever on the road in my area.... even with gas prices lower. Don't get it. AND the prices are up on the geos as well. Crazy.

It's been my daily driver since I first got it on the road a lil over a year ago. I did run the Harley this weekend (about the same MPG as the Metro) & took the truck to the dump.

I am still saving $50-60/mo. driving the Metro rather than my Chevy HHR, so I'll continue to drive the Metro. Even if gas was down to $0.25/gal., I'd continue to drive the Metro for the fact that I'm saving money. :lol As others have stated, it's more fun to drive as well!

It's my only choice. I always enjoy driving my Metros. Even if I had another vehicle, money saved on gas is money saved. It would be nice if it stayed this low through summer!

My 'Vert is a "good times" Metro. Stays in the garage when snow, rain and bad weather is apparent. Pacific North West weather has kept it in the garage since Thanksgiving......Top is down and waiting for the right day------

I've been driving mine from the Springs to Denver every day for the past month. Up until the last two days when this snow hit us it's been going and going. 15 but to fill up every 2.5 days is gonna kill me though.

I still drive mine because... it's my only car. :)

And occasionally my wife's Volkswagen EOS 2.0T car when I make an excuse that I have to fix something on the Metro.

I kinda feel the same way with my Vert. Its so tempting to keep it in the garage, but I really like driving it! We got a pretty decent snowfall here a couple weeks back (uncommon for this part of NC) and some ice too. I was gonna keep it off the road for a few days but decided to drive it. Even with summer tires it did better than my 2 wheel drive pickup with snow tires!
