call safelite. get it fixed then tint the windshield with 50% and it will never crack again

the last chip i had safelite repair cost me $80! you can only repair a chip, bull's eye, or crack if it fits under a dime.

the $30 over the counter repair kits work just as well as any other windshield repair. they all use a suction cup, pull a small vacuum, and then inject the epoxy under small pressure to fill the chip or fracture. the key to success is to clean the repair area really well. after the epoxy sets up you slice off the booger with a new razor blade. ;)

I've tried those repair kits at least three times. Did not work for me on the windshield. But it did work OK on a house window that someone had put a BB through. So, it worked on a hole but not too well on a spider crack.

If you have liability-only insurance, I'd go for the kit. If you have full-coverage, I'd be willing to bet that your insurance would cover professional chip repair, to save them the windshield replacement bill.

the crack is very small, about 1/8 inch. I do have full coverage maybe I will give them a call..thanks for the suggestions!

with full coverage it will not cost anything from safelite. once they are done i bet you will not notice it at all.
