Any reason to keep 35mm film camera around?; I have two nice digitals now.

I have a 35mm film camera that was nice in its day but haven't used it in years since I went digital. I seem to remember paying like $500 for it but it is now outdated and selling for like $9 on eBay. It is either a keep or donate item at this point as it isn't worth selling.

I have a nice new digital camera and the last one I had before that as a backup. The film camera was much better than some of the earlier digital models but any new digital worth a crap is better if you ask me.

Any reason to hang onto this or should I just send it along the way?

You might donate it to a school for their photography classes.

What brand/model is it? Might make a good bookshelf conversation piece someday.

Is it an interchangeable-lens camera? If so, there's always a market for old lenses. Almost all the lenses I use are older than me. Some are older than my parents.

It is a Pentax IQZoom 928M point and shoot. This isn't an SLR or anything with interchangeable lenses. It is a basic point and shoot type camera. I remember researching it before buying. My parents liked it and ended up getting the same model. I think their camera is still knocking around somewhere too.

This isn't one of the all mechanical classic models. It looks basically like a modern digital camera but right before these became big time.

I have an 8mm camera and matching projector and they are in their original boxes along with the manuals and paperwork. Probably good enough to trade for a cup of coffee if I throw in a $2 bill.

Pentax! :rocker They make some legendary lenses, but there's nothing special about a point-and-shoot. There's always a heap of them just like it on the shelf at Goodwill, right next to all the old, crusty keyboards. There are people here and there who collect them, but it's mainly to say, "hey, look what I can do with this 25ยข camera!" Even with that crowd, zoom lenses are not popular.

Give it to Goodwill, sell it at a garage sale, or keep it for nostalgia's sake. Your own memories are the only valuable thing that camera has anymore. :(

Pretty much. It was very highly rated in its category at the time but is now nothing special. Yeah, it is just a typical point and shoot. Yeah, it had some nice features in its time but my two more modern digitals do everything it could and more.

Yes, I have some fond memories of the old camera but they are stored on the photos and negatives from that camera. I think I will move this one on down the road.
