Additionally, I have read many reviews regarding Great Stuff vs. other types of foams out there, and everything I've read shows Great Stuff to be a closed cell foam, meaning it does NOT absorb water. Recently I have come across a few forums disputing this and arguments back and forth. All I know is that I haven't had a problem with the treatments I've applied in the past.

Great Stuff review and comparison

Trimmed away the excess foam, then hit it good top and bottom with the first coat of rubber sealant.

Now that my enthusiasm for my recently purchased Mirage has died down a bit, it's time to resume the project on my 1990.

*You know, so I can avoid being accused of not contributing to this forum. :lol

The carpet is back in, along with new seats I picked from a 97 sedan that were spotless. I put the seats in so I have something to sit on while I wrestle with getting the new dash back in.

Moving forward I'll just update a photo album inside of Photobucket instead of posting pictures. I'm having too much of a problem with improper resolution size for them to post.

That's my favorite stock seat style. No ugly vinyl on the sides. It looks heaps better already! :thumb

Did that version only come with sedans? My '96 hatchback had that style when I bought it, but I suspect they were swapped in at some point. They didn't have the "courtesy lever" function, and they weren't nearly as worn as the 246k odometer would suggest.

Did you swap the seat rails, too?

I'm not sure, but I haven't seen this style in any stock 95+ hatchbacks, so maybe it was just a sedan thing. It has a pocket in the back of the passenger seat but not the driver seat....probably so the driver can easily reach back and grab a map or something.

All I know is that although they're clean and untorn, they won't match the rear seats when they go back in. They'll be close, and that's good enough for me. :thumb

Good enough for me, too. :D My backseat was also a different upholstery style. The front seats were definitely swapped. Now I have to admit it: my PO actually did a sensible upgrade to my car! :O
