i did some fixing last night on the geo, was not much picture to show but heres what i found out and what i did. Since the other geo had a mostly clean filter and mostly new oil i changed the oil in this car putting the red geos oil in here, i know its a cheap O move but it was new oil still and i figured i could run it for a while here because this car leaks some oil. After the oil change i fixed some things i saw, when i went to DTM Gtis house he saw that a sensor was unhooked and asked if i had a check engine light, i said yea it flashes, it goes on it gets bright it goes dim and does LOTS of crazy stuff. he said that was weird and plugged the thing back in and that was that. When i was changing the oil i saw that there were 2 more sensors unplugged under the throttle body, AND those ground eyelets that take the little 10mm bolt behind the throttle body were bolted to the front/rear brake balancer lines. so i installed the ground wires to the correct location. then i saw another wire that was unplugged, the ground wire that runs from the distributor to the fire wall, its black and has a spade quick connector in the middle of the wire. well that wire was also not plugged in. After plugging all these wires in i went to my moms and the shifts better now i have no idea why shifting had any thing to do with what i plugged in but now its normal and shifts at the correct times. also the check engine light is on but steady, it stopped doin crazy stuff, just on. weird stuff

The days of owning an automatic metro...I remember it fondly (not really). I hate the automatic geos a lot, soooo many little things that cause bad shifting and other random crap. Once my 93 auto hit 185000 miles the tranny basically exploded. I love the way this one looks though, pretty cool! |

My favorite type of fixes are the ones that are like. Ooh a loose wire. Let's plug that back in.. |

it needs a lot of things, I worked 40hrs from Sunday to Wednesday at 10am and I got the new promotion at work so its been kinda crazy the last few weeks with spring break and all that, spring break is our busy time. I have not really fixed this car I have just been driving it, clocked 2300 miles on it already since my car took a fat poop. I worked on my work shop today adding lights a computer monitor keyboard and mouse stand so I can use the computer in the shop now. the car fixing is coming along but a radio is kinda like.... meh because I would not be able to hear it, my geo is so quiet I can hear the radio even when at a low low volume, this geo I get in put my head phones on and drive while sipping my coffee. good little car that just keeps doing me good. |

Well, alright... I have a few stereos pre-wired, thought I could help ya out if you needed something. But if you're satisfied with your current arrangement, then that's what's important!

lol no I am not satisfied with this white car, its noisy, slow, under powered, clunky ugly broken smelly and dingy. Only things I am satisfied with are the seats, the paint add ons, like the flowers and peace etc. ill never get pulled over in it, and I like the fact I never lock the doors

![]() so here is the idle solenoid and we suspected the spring was possibly broken but looks like it was not. Clean it out and put it back together. ![]() 3 springs in the solenoid that cut the air or let it pass. ![]() under the throttle body there was another coolant temp sender and it was broken, so my dad and I changed that for a new one and that was great progress, then the coolant hoses that run around the TB were plugged so we cleaned those out and now the hot coolant car get up there and that solved the issues with it not wanting to start. So with these issues fixed I drove the car to work today with NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT the engine does not fall on its face when you let off the gas from to much fuel, it has more get up and is not boggy, starts quicker and should get better mpgs and I kinda had 4 flat tires, they were around 8-12 psi in the tires, so that will help mpg now that those are aired up

so today since the red car is back up and going I changed the oil, and used some stabil in the tank ran it around for a bit put the sun shades up and its ready for some repairs. During the time my red car was down I put almost 3000 miles on this car, I am so glad it ran the entire time. Some things I want to do here soon are change the carpet over to non dry rotted carpet and I would like to fix the rear hatch struts to actually hold it up would be nice. and as a future update I one day want to paint the bumpers and trims white so its truly the white one. |
