I checked the splined male end of the joint that fits into the steering column end. It is the same diameter on the 93 sedan with p.s ., the 97 hatchback with manual steering, 92 metro hatch with manual steering, and 92 suzuki swift gti with manual steering.

The female rack end of the splined joint is smaller on the 92 metro and 92 swift gt. On the 1993 sedan with p.s., and the 1997 firefly hatchback with manual steering, the diameter is larger where it clamps onto the steering rack pinion.

Btw the overall length of the 1992 suzuki swift gt steering joint unit is 7 3/4"

Let me add my 3 cents. Why isn't anyone checking in Australia? This option was on their cars and the Mk2/Mk3 went through a longer production run. As power windows wern't offered here in NA it was in AUS and NZ and Asia. I have seen PS racks as most guys ditch them for the live feel of unassisted steering.

I think Swifterthanu was referring to the likelihood of finding used power steering parts in Australia - It could be higher than in North America since the Australians import highly optioned JDM cars. (Although these cars would also have RHD steering racks, with potentially different steering joint lengths due to right side firewall modifications / foot pedal box clearance etc.)

(One could probably verify dimensions and parts by placing a Parts Wanted ad at Suzuki Swift sites such as http://www.redlinegti.com/forum/)

Brad I have been buying off of eBay AUS and redline since around 2008 when I jumped into my GTi. I dealt with a dealer in Brisbane for about 6 months collecting my door cards and switches for PS. I know that you can find of the HTF parts in AUS / NZ.
