Not that Wikipedia is exactly a reference to be relied on, it will do in a pinch or when the nature of the information just isn't that serious...

However, I found the following statements about the PRIZM a bit interesting...

Wikipedia PRIZM

The Prizm was introduced in February 1989 for GM's then-new Geo brand of import cars, for the 1990 model year.[1] The hatchback version sold through 1991 was a rebadged version of the Toyota Sprinter Cielo, although unlike the Sprinter (and Corolla Liftback) it received the same front clip as the sedan...

In 1991, the lettering of the car's name was changed from "Prizm" to "PRIZM" in italicized and capital letters (although the steering wheel continued to use "Prizm")...

The Prizm along with its Geo siblings suffered severe sales loss when the brand denomination changed from Geo to Chevrolet in 1998. The Geo models outsold the rebadged Chevrolets 3 to 1.

Mr Mojo Risin'

I bought a 1991 Geo Prizm sedan in 2010 for $300, ran great and really was a good car. When I sold it sometime later I think I got around $1500 for it, not bad since I did almost nothing to it! Great cars (really great cars actually).

Found a pic!

Now I Dare And Defy You To Spot An '89 Geo SPECTRUM!
Theres 3 locally to me.
I saw one at the junkyard today. It's the first time I've ever noticed one, but they're easy to ignore. There's one Geo badge on the back, with the Chevy bowtie everywhere else.

HAVE a rear hatch & glass, in great shape for a 97 Metro that had only 42,000 miles on it from new. NEW to this site, so I don't know, YET, how to post pics. Hatch is just sitting in my back yard. IF someone can use it, let me know. Also LOOKING for the rear hatch cover for the inside of my 97. Also the pins to hold the panel in, on the rear hatch which I took off to change hatch to one with wiper & defroster. Help would be appreciated. I am in Reading, Penna. Bill

You can get the little "push pins" to lock body panels in at any auto parts store. I seemed to have trouble finding gray ones, but you can spray paint the black ones gray.

Welcome to the forum!
