Yeah, you just wouldn't pick him for a neighbor, or vote for him. I just love when people say "I know a few atheists or non-believers", as though were some kind of rare oddity. Look around you, People. Statistically, whether they're open about their non-belief or not, 2 - 3 out of every 10 people around you, are non-believers. Yes, that includes the people sitting in the pews with you at church on Sundays. Not only that, as increasingly evidenced by The Clergy Project, the one who may be most likely to be a non-believer, in a church, synagogue or mosque, is your priest, pastor, minister, rabi, or imam. Well as much as I would love to participate since I live in the space between the two extremes here, and as much as I was going to just let it go after the call to not devolve into a continuing back and forth about who is right in religion vs non religion being necessary to be moral (people do what people are going to do, regardless of religion), before this gets heated I'm killing it here. Sorry to those who enjoy the debate, but the rules are the rules. |
