Here they destroy a Sprint and the only thing wrong was the clutch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mvcofiDmRY

This WAS a nice Swift at one time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xt2gLYnmAS0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fKApSIbkbA

Then they do it to a Jaguar. The good stuff is at 3:30 or a little after. That gal gave it hell! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duq00B2k9P8 I have never been a big fan of these cars. They may look good but spend more time in the shop than on the road.

At least this is what rednecks in the US do! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoIzbvEfG7Y I am sure the Confederate flag will offend someone so more power to this although it only "looks" like a Geo. I think pretty much everything else is changed but the body itself.

It is amazing how die-hard the engine is in the first video.

Where did you get "the only thing wrong was the clutch" part from?

Did you hear them say that in Dutch during the video? :dunno

The description under the video said it was the clutch. Yes, that engine was pretty die-hard.

This one was also nuts! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B15SrD-dQYg That would have been a good engine for someone before they did this. It was unstoppable.

How about a Taurus SHO? It seems that people with these run the balls off them and anytime I see one, they are beat to hell. Parts of the bumper are always missing, etc.

It said they blew it up after the clutch went out, sure.

Nothing said the clutch was the only thing wrong with the car.

True but these guys appear to have blown up like 50 cars from what I see in the list of other videos. I assume Sprints rust out just as badly as Metros though. Is that the case?

My GF found some "junk car races" where they were racing Ford Festivas and all other kinds of cars around a track. It was like half racing and half demo derby.

I saw that, and it's pretty sad what foolish things people will do anymore to become "(in)famous" on the internet.

Either these kids have access to a seemingly unlimited supply of junk cars (that I'm guessing they help them become junk by the way they treat them), or an unlimited supply of money. Either way, it makes me sick to see people trashing any car that didn't somehow trash itself in the course of normal operation.

Just goes against how I was raised.

Yeah, it does seem like a waste. Some of the cars you see people doing this to are obviously wrecked but you can tell that the engine was solid with lots of life left. That one video where the kid with no shirt is revving the piss out of a Metro is an example of that. This engine seemed unstoppable until they sucked rocks in through the intake and killed the valves.

Some of the Australian rally guys are nuts. It seems it is a point of pride to them to make sure a wrecked rally car is done in for good. I have seen videos of them with the engine bay on fire and the engine running for quite some time before it decides to quit.

Mr Mojo Risin'

As much as I would love to join the "anti clunker abuse" campaign I can't on this one. The owner of this youtube channel (Milo) is a genuinely nice guy who only abuses cars that no longer meet the fairly stringent inspection processes of the Netherlands and are deemed junk. In other words they will no longer pass inspection and are DESTINED to become a soda can even if he doesn't smush them. He picks them up for either free or very cheap and destroys them for entertainment purposes. A car that is worth maybe $200 for scrap in the Netherlands can be turned into $1000 profit from youtube views. Not only is that good because it provides entertainment AND income but it also takes unsafe vehicles off the road. I've been watching his channel since 2009 and he doesn't just destroy things for no reason, he's a skilled welder/mechanic who built the infamous "Roll Golf" a few years back.

There is totally senseless (and very wasteful) destruction on youtube but this guy creates new things from the parts of old things so it balances out.

Thanks for that explanation AV. :cheers

While I was correct in my guess that the vehicle was due for being trashed, I didn't fully understand the whole situation.

That will make watching his videos worth watching now. :D
