How many car batteries can you add water to these days?; New Mirage has one.

One thing cool about the battery in the new Mirage is that you can remove the vent caps on the battery very easily. The battery casing is a translucent plastic so you can see the fluid levels inside and you can add distilled water as needed.

I know some prefer the "maintenance free" batteries but I think this is pretty cool. I understand that if you keep up on these, they will outlast a maintenance free version by quite a while.

One of my electric Metros used to have a whole bunch of batteries that needed water. What a job to keep up with!

I replaced them with lithium, so no more adding water. Much easier this way..

That's the way they came a long time ago. I remember our Datsuns had panasonic batteries with translucent cases.

I love that the battery is right up on top, and that you don't have to take out trunk paneling or remove headlights/bumpers to get to it.

Hardly ever these days with temperature compensated voltage regulators.
