I have a 1989 Suzuki swift GT that I am doing a dessert mod to, Scratchpaddy and I been working on it most the day I have pics I wanna up load so stay tuned :deal

Ok so lets talk about this car a little bit, its a swift GT that was crashed, many of you know it from my blue turbo car project. Since I have all the geo parts from the blue turbo car I needed to put them into some type of car so they don't sit around. Well this crashed GT will be perfect, JM has his eco mudder car and I have been quite fascinated by it ever since I joined the site.

Today we did lots of things.
wing window glass out
interior out
hatch off
got the twin cam engine out
changed the brake proportioning valve from the blue geo to the GT body because the blue car gets the disc brakes
washed the scummy interior out, man that was gross
binned lots of hardware, bolts, screwes nuts etc.
boxed up parts and put them in the shed, interior plastics seats etc.
brain stormed the spare tire hauler for the rear end
brain stormed the stack exhaust I want, needs a spark arrestor for the desert tho.
got the front bumper off while he did the back bumper

hes got all the pictures so hope he uploads them soon :type

This car will have some unique features that are not that terribly common and I do have some ideas on how I want it to be. The ground clearance is a slight issue so I have decided on 14'' GT rims with some beefys, got the rims just got to buy some tires. Going to have front wheel spacers to get the tires out a bit wider. The rear hatch is off so I wanted to build a spare wheel hauler like you see on a desert truck so I can have 2 spares. This ride is getting the 4:39 transmission in it and the 3 cyl engine so it wont be much of a GT any more in reality. The exhaust I want to curl right out the side and do like a 3 foot stack pipe with a rain flapper on top mosty to be annoying and for the mad max vibe. I need to weld up some tow hooks to hook my winch up to in the front and back. And I need to buy some paint, this car is going to get the desset tan look and I and debating on the sides, should I do a black star? or shoud I do some other logo on the door. The black accents on the car will be black bully bars black rims and black any pipes or bars on the car, but I will keep the body light tan, for the looks and stuff. Bout time I made a mad max metro. I'm going to rally the crap out of this car until it breaks or something.

This car's pretty much been a storage shed on wheels in ZXT's backyard for a while. If you've been following his posts, this is the car that a dust storm blew a window out of last year. The window was replaced with a spare from Gary's wrecked right-hand drive car.

We finally started cleaning it up yesterday. I had Tasi inspect the frame for rust first, but she didn't find any. :banana

Then, we opened it up. "It smells like fat people in here," Tanner said. :rofl It reminded me of my freshmen year of college, sharing a room with a kid that smelled just like this no matter how many showers he took. Anyway, we took everything out, even the carpet. The jute backing stayed glued to the floor from years of spilled Big Gulps. And it still stank.

All the trim came out, too. The dashboard's been gone for a while.

Easiest way to fix a scuzzy jute problem? Hose that :shit out!

We washed the windows, too. ;) Check out the color of that water. That's all the soda (I hope it's just soda!) that was soaked into the jute. (is there a "barf" emoji? I could really use one right here)

Tanner got all the hardware off of the front, and I took the bumper off the back, which was my main contribution for the day. :whistle

Posted Image

The back windows and hatch came out, too. The spare tires are going to go on a rack back here.

The transmission was already out, so we got to work on the rest of the powertrain. This engine's too much of a beast to just curl out like he's used to doing. :lol Before anybody starts to :drool over the twincam, this one's all tired out. I think DTM GTI knows more about it, but the compression is less than 100 on all four cylinders, and it won't start. It's been like this for years. It's a parts motor at this point.

Posted Image

We jacked the front of the car way up to slide the engine under the radiator support. It was way up there.

Posted Image

Goodbye, twincam. :(

Posted Image

Bring out the 3-banger! :banana

Posted Image

While the engine was out, Tanner grabbed the proportioning valve for his blue GT Wagon project. DTM GTI came by to say hi and tell us that this was unnecessary, but it was already done. :dunno

That's about where we stopped. More to come. :deal

I did not take a picture but let it be known that leaving a car jacked up on jack stands while it rains makes for a bad day, the car tipped off the jack stands and fell into the fence :rofl also the entire back yard stinks bad because the engine is out but I forgot to crack open the fuel cap so the tank pressurized and was dripping stinky OLD gas for days out there and it still stinks back there
